  3. Review titled Clueless

Rated 1 star out of 5

I took my wife for an appointment! It’s our first time as the park site confirmed they have an on the day available for a doctor to review my Mrs. Basically my wife was really ill and might have got an infection where the operation was (stomach) she was in pain! So we attended the appointment and due to the strong pain killers my wife was on also exhausted she fainted in the room after giving her details and description of her symptoms. I had to tell him to ring the ambulance! The doctor was on the phone to the ambulance however he couldav put the phone on speaker while placing my wife in a recovery position. I had to tell him put it on speaker and put my Mrs in recovery position. She was leaning against me but he didn’t have a clue how to put her in recovery position. I ran out the room and called an another doctor who came and knew what she was doing. He then started giving wrong name/info of another patient to the emergency services on the phone. Once the ambulance arrived he again was giving wrong details of another patient and I had to step in and say ‘hey that’s not my Mrs name or details what are you playing at’ his response was oops had wrong info on my pc. No words can describe how angry and disappointed I was. He didn’t know what to do, came across very clueless with no knowledge.

  5. Review titled A great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Needed my mental health meds reviewed and my bloods doing today. I got an appointment the same day by a very polite receptionist who went above and beyond to help me. Went to my appointment and the nurse was professional and friendly. The reception guy then helped me which put my mind at ease. This was the Duke Street Centre. I struggle to even crack a smile lately as my mental health isn’t great. A big Thankyou from me(deserved).

All staff are professional, polite and friendly. You may have to wait a little while for the phone to be answered but once answered I have always been treat with respect and have always managed to get an appointment for myself or a home visit for my husband. I have no problems with manor and park group practise.

  7. Review titled A shambles of a GP surgery!!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 September 2023

My 80 year old mum had an appointment today at 1.30 for bloods and a review of her current medication. Arrived on time waited 10 minutes outside in the pouring rain and howling wind! The surgery was all closed and padlocks on the gate! No message telephone call or anything to say they had cancelled her appointment! Opening times day it should have been open! Absolutely disgusting service and this is the 3rd time they have done this to her! She’s 80 and needed her bloods checked for her low immune system. Trying to phone the surgery is like trying to phone the pope!!! I am so sad that my mum has not seen a GP in such a long time!!

  8. Review titled Extremely frustrating experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Tom - Posted on 02 May 2023

I am suffering abdominal pain which I’ve had in the past. The last time it was out of hours so I called NHS 111 and I was referred to the Northern General GP centre. The GP there prescribed some medication for the pain but recommended I arrange tests with my local GP Manor and Park for an underlying diagnosis. The last time I tried contacting Manor and Park practice, I could not get through for an appointment. I literally tried over 100 times. In the end I gave up and just put up with the pain until it subsided. The pain has returned now so I am trying again. I get user busy on my phone or eventually I do get placed into a queue. I am told I’m 5th in queue... The queue number counts down until i am first in queue… Then I get disconnected! It’s happened twice… I am not trying a third time. I believe this practice gets funding for each registered patient. Based on my experience, I think they’re prioritising monetary gain over actual care patients need. The website says they are accepting new patients... It appears the practice cannot handle the number of patients they currently have, so need to stop accepting new patients immediately. I recommend anyone reading this should consider alternative options for general practitioner care. In conclusion, we deserve better care than this practice seems to be providing.

Hi Tom, I am sorry that your calls have been dropped when calling the surgery. We do endeavour to answer calls from our patients as quickly and efficiently as possible, often having 3 receptionist per day taking calls. We usually take around 1500 calls per week. Whilst I can appreciate this is very frustrating, please be assured that we are doing our very best and not cutting patients off intentionally. We have a phone system that allows me to trace calls and report them to the phone provider to find the root cause if a patient is disconnected. Please email me on syicb-sheffield.manorparkmc@nhs.net with your contact details and I will look in to this further. Thanks Brooke, Practice Manager
