Review titled Thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Karen green - Posted on 09 March 2025
I contacted Manor House late on Thursday 27/2/25 on the 28/2 I was sent a link offering me GP appointments on Monday and Tuesday the following week. I was unable to attend these days so I rang the surgery who made me an appointment on the Wednesday. During my consultation on the Wednesday, I was advised I was being put on the 2 week cancer path, and that I wound received a hospital appointment within this time. On Thursday afternoon I received a call from Tameside Hospital offering me a consultation on Sunday 9 March. I have attended this consultation and to my great relief it is not cancer. The speed, professionalism, dedication and calming manner of all who I have dealt with during this short but intense period Wednesday - Sunday is exceptional. Thank you all so much

Review titled A very attuned GP
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs M Whittle - Posted on 13 March 2025
I attended an appointment and was seen promptly. The GP had clearly looked at the online referral and then she listened to my concerns. She examined the area of concern and reassured me in a measured way, offering evidence for her view. I left, feeling heard and attended to in a professional and sensitive manner which has done a lot to level my concerns. I felt involved in the consultation throughout and was extremely happy with the agreed outcome.

Review titled Great Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jacqueline Chadwick - Posted on 04 September 2024
I sent in a triage form this morning. I wanted to discuss some test results with a GP. By 10.20am I had received call from a GP who discussed the results answered all my questions and reassured me. The GP was understanding and compassionate. I felt listened to and unrushed. Excellent service.

Having a cancelled appointment due to surgery illness given new appointment within two days for ears syringing. Without the new appointment I would have had to cancel another appointment for new ear plugs. Thanks to nurse for your excellent attention and treatment. A.n.i.t.a.

Review titled Medics good, Reception atrocious
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 August 2024
Last year Manor House sent out an instruction to patients to book in for an annual health check in our birth month. When I tried to do that for this year the receptionist had no idea what I was talking about. Seems that the policy may have changed, or might not, and either way the staff haven't been properly informed. This was made into my problem to solve. I did eventually manage to book…something. I arrived for my appointment and got a confusing error message on the check-in screens. I'm Autistic, I find these kinds of things very hard to navigate. I tried to ask the person on Reception to help, they treated me like a massive idiot who was setting out to spoil their day. I even wear a sunflower lanyard saying I'm Autistic to try to increase my chances of being helped. That doesn't work at Manor House Reception. Other neurodiverse (and maybe disabled in general, who knows?) patients should beware when using this surgery. Once you manage to get to see a nurse or doctor they are very helpful, but the front desk staff seem to feel that patients are a problem that they'd rather not have to deal with, rather than patients being the reason they have a job.

Dear patient. Thank you for your feedback, and please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in responding to you. We are so sorry that you did not feel that you received the service that you deserved. We did undergo a period of transition whilst merging with another Glossop surgery, which unfortunately presented some challenges when integrating our processes. We can confirm that the full merger into Manor House Surgery is now complete and the service is running well. Autism and Neurodiversity training is currently being undertaken by all members of our team, and we are confident that this will improve sills and understanding, not only for our clinicians, but also for our admin support. Patient care and consideration is important to us and we do hope that your experience since that time has been a positive one. Should you experience any issues at all with your care in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly. Thank you Victoria Townley Practice Manager

Review titled Disappointed
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Your review: Having been a patient of Hadfield Surgery for many many years with no issues it is disappointing since amalgamation with Manor House Glossop the service has really deteriorated. I have no issues with Nurses or Doctors when treated. First appointment complaint June 2024. I had an infected right foot which kept me awake at night and lack of sleep due to excruciating itching. Phoned surgery, requested to use triage system. Unable to gain appointment, phoned surgery, no appointments within two weeks. Due to my situation I took colour photo of my foot to surgery and requested any doctor to please give me feedback, receptionist booked appointment one week later. Had treatment at Howard St, not Manor House. Doctor excellent. Second appointment dissatisfaction. Managed to gain appointment after one week for hearing referral letter. The nurse explained I needed both ears syringed before a referral letter could be given, but, I would have to use earplugs spray two weeks before acceptance for syringing. Two weeks appointment due on 7 July 2024 at 16.10pm. At 2 hrs before appointment a phone call to state the nurse wasn’t allowed to perform the syringing. New appointment made for 12 July at 16.40pm. Fingers crossed. Efficiency? Bad management? Incompetent staff? I repeat no issues when treated by Nurses and Doctor

Review titled The best treatment at an excellent practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lynn Kennington - Posted on 15 December 2023
My doctor has gone to great lengths to investigate my illness through a variety of tests. She has interpreted these tests and explained to me everything I need to know. I have been given good advice and I feel positive about my future health. Our family feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful doctor.
