Review titled Disorganised and chaotic
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jessie Nixon - Posted on 12 November 2024
I am a new patient and have given up trying to get an appointment or have the doctors take my request seriously. I am simply changing practices. Absolutely dire. I haven’t used the NHS in about six years and think I should be owed at least the respect of being able to book an appointment.

Review titled Blood pressure monitoring
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sandra Bastin - Posted on 10 July 2024
after 3 attempts to get an appointment was told by a doctor that my 86 year old mother had to go and buy a blood pressure machine to check her blood pressure at home .She had just been discharged from hospital and advise to contact GP after just having surgery on her knee after an accident and could not make it to the surgery. Don't know why we are paying our taxes for the GPs gone are the days when they cared for their patients they don't want to treat patients anymore should not have them, everyone just A& E .

Review titled Finally a GP that cares
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Michaela Gbebikan - Posted on 12 April 2024
This is not my regular surgery but as part of the new online booking procedure I was seen the same day. I requested a surgery near my mums house for family reasons instead of my usual surgery. I waited for over 30 minutes and honestly was frustrated when I was finally seen. After a bad experience at my own surgery I was treated was care, acknowledgment and not treated as just a number. The doctor asked me where my mother lived and I told him just a road behind. He said ‘I’m speaking to the correct person.’ Even though I had never visited the surgery her knew my father had passed away recently (my father was registered at this surgery) he knew this from my family name. The doctor was so kind and caring that I now wish to change my surgery to here so I can be under his care. I honestly want to thank him for making me feel understood.

Review titled Unbelievably rude receptionist and Doctor
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 January 2024
I visited the practice on Friday to do my regular blood pressure check, whilst there I asked to use the toilet. The first receptionist who was lovely told me that the downstairs toilet was out of service, and said I could try upstairs. When I went upstairs the toilet was engaged. Whilst deciding whether or not I should wait the senior doctor asked me what I was doing. When I explained that I was waiting for the toilet he told me that I had to have an appointment and that I should go downstairs. When I returned downstairs to the reception I asked if there was another toilet at which point another very rude and arrogant reception asked me, “What do you want to use the toilet for”. Shocked at what I had just been asked, I asked her to repeat the question. Personally I find it incomprehensible that a receptionist in an NHS Clinic should ask a patient of over 30 years what they want to do in the toilet. Personally there are only 2 answers for that question, so I made it clear in no uncertain terms that it was for a number 2. How humiliating! It’s a disgrace that NHS should be allowed to treat patients in this manner. I have posted this review once but this NHS site refused to allow it so here goes for a second time. Let’s see if it’s allowed this time.

Hi there You have discussed your concerns with the practice manager. Unfortunately our BP machine is awaiting calibration and is not in use. There is a sign with this information on the machine. We have also explained that for safety and security, our toilets are not for public use, and are only available to those patients who have an appointment at the practice. Many thanks Nexus Health Group

Review titled From the greatest to the worse

I have known Manor Place Surgery for 19 years and I have had very good experience with the service from receptionist customer attention, appointment and GP. However this view has change on my last three opportunities this year where I have come to your surgery to make an appointment. There is a receptionist which I have observed and experienced myself the manner of abruptly talking to patient's. Very sharp and rude answering questions and I wounder how elderly and vulnerable people gets affected by this. It is such as shame that this is the face of contact to your surgery as it doesn't represents your practice at all. After writen this feedback, I gave myself a chance of a doubt to observe one more time after my visit appointment. I was sitting on waiting room and a vulnerable old man came stating that he was discharged from hospital and that he needs medication. He need an anticuagulant medication which he has already miss on that day. He explain that he has gone to pharmacy and no prescription. He also explain that he was move as emergency to fare way that's way he could no come with discharge letter to request medication. All this answer to an abrupt receptionist, very sharp talking over him and no even given a compassionate answer to attempt to resolve this matter. It ends on the man to go and to wait for prescription she said may be tomorrow or day after. I stand and came to the door and told him to go to pharmacy to see if he could get emergency medication. When sit back on waiting room the other two people were feeling the same and we all look each other shock with this receptionist manner. One lady said this is what it is, she gets paid for this. We could all heard on waiting room the receptionist going inside and mocking about this patient and all laughing inside. So it appears that this is accepted by your all team sitting on reception. No more to said. Look at your cameras if you are interested to see if this is acceptable for your love ones

This practice now 'functions' with a call centre, the staff of which are clueless but not as rude as many of the receptionists there. I invariably have problems with repeat prescriptions with negative effects on my health.

Review titled Very good service
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Simon Mills - Posted on 17 April 2023
I recently contacted the practice regarding an urgent health problem. I received an appointment at another practice in the same group within two hours and was seen on time by a polite professional clinician. Considering the pressure that general practice is under at the moment, and all of the negative news in the press, this was an excellent service and all of the staff should be commended for their helpfulness and professionalism.

Review titled Excellent service this week
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sean Griffin - Posted on 22 February 2023
Booked a phone appt online (4 days hence). Got the appt call on the dot. The doctor listened very carefully, recapped and treated me with courtesy and consideration. She suggested options then arranged a new prescription which I collected from Walworth Pharmacy (also excellent) today. Got text reminding me to get blood test done in 2 weeks. Checked the notes in the NHS app and everything had been meticulously recorded. World class service. And the reception staff are brilliant. Thanks!
