  1. Review titled A fantastic GP practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 July 2024

On a recent visit to the GP I found the receptionist were lovely and welcoming. The GP took the time to listen to all my issues and explained how we would solve each of them together. I could not ask for a better GP experience. Well done to all at Manor Road.

  2. Review titled Don’t care

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 May 2024

I can not complain about the receptionists they have been amazing. I feel as though I have been let down by my GP. I have been with them for years and have never had a complaint. I recently suffered a mental health crisis which lead me to A and E. Oxleas were amazing. They diagnosed me and put me on medication. They sent a letter to GP recommending a sick note and a review with my GP. One week later and the sick note has not been done, despite many phone calls. No appointments available with GP either. Luckily I managed to get a prescription. I will be phoning Oxleas tomorrow to explain what has happened and ask for advice. My mental health has not been helped by this, and I feel like there is no support for people like me who are in the middle of a mental health crisis. I’ve never asked for a sick note before in my life and rarely visit the dr and the one time I really need help and I can’t get it.

  3. Review titled Need for training

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Complete pantomime yesterday leading to visiting three different pharmacies for a simple repeat prescription request which was submitted in good time but only partly actioned. Lack of knowledge and/or common sense displayed in abundance. Still only managed to get an emergency supply of two doses through ringing NHS direct for a full prescription charge! Let’s see what today brings

  4. Review titled Bad personal skills

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I was seen by a doctor who did not introduce themselves or ask what the problem was and instead just looked at me waiting for me to start. An important point about attending a GP appointment is feeling comfortable to disclose all information so the doctor can get a good idea of the problem. I did not feel comfortable at all.

Impossible to contact. Reception cannot take down messages accurately. Wrong prescriptions. Referrals to places that do not do the required procedures.

  6. Review titled Cold and dismissive GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 October 2022

I have been registered at this surgery for a number of years now and always been happy with the service from everyone, however, my recent appointment was the extreme opposite. I saw a different GP to my regular and now wish I had waited. The GP I saw was extremely rude, dismissive and hardly listened to what I had to say and just reeled off information as if they were reading a script. Whilst I was talking about why I had made the appointment, they were looking around the room, checked their mobile phone, at one point they started picking/cleaning their fingernails and looked completely disinterested the entire time. Going to the GP isn’t my favourite activity and not something I make a habit of but I will make an appointment when necessary and this was one of those times. I don’t expect to be treated like a small child and lavished with attention and a fluffy bedside manner but the GPs demeanour and attitude was extremely cold and uncaring. I left feeling like a hypochondriac, even though I had no reason to feel that way given the reasons behind making the appointment. I have a job where I have to deal with people on a daily basis and I know it can be trying but this was unacceptable. I will be registering with another GP. Shame on you!
