  1. Review titled Wonderful practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Mrs L - Posted on 26 September 2024

Reception staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and all the doctors I have seen at this practice are excellent. At this morning’s appointment I was given the information and advice I needed but it was the human touch that I most appreciated. The doctor took time to consider my condition in a holistic manner and give advice accordingly. I felt seen as a whole person and felt the doctor’s real efforts to give me the best care possible. I felt compelled to write a review to put on record my appreciation of this wonderful practice. Thank you for all the care you give your patients. Interestingly, as I left the surgery today I heard a man express these same sentiments to the receptionist so I do believe it’s a common experience at Manor Road Surgery.

  2. Review titled Mixed experiences

Rated 1 star out of 5

Visited GP in May, was advised by Dr that he would submit a referral for a diagnostic ultrasound, and to call the surgery if I hadn't heard from the referral clinic in 2 weeks. After 5 weeks without word I called the surgery and was told by the receptionist the referral can take 6 weeks to process and to call back in another week's time if I hadn't heard. Called again now 7.5 weeks of nothing, advised it can take up to 8 weeks to hear back and gave me a number to call the referral place directly. Called the referral clinic, no answer / voicemail after several attempts, I sent an email to the surgery asking for help and that my condition was getting worse. Received an email to say that they checked and the referral was never even sent in the first instance. I was surprised that the previous receptionists I had talked to had not even checked if a referral had been submitted / were making claims about referral times. The receptionist I emailed apologised and submitted the referral immediately and I was able to see the referral clinic very quickly after that. I would advise emailing the surgery for follow ups on referrals/ issues rather than calling. Appreciate the the reception staff are probably under great pressure and volume of work.

  3. Review titled A fantastic GP practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On a recent visit to the GP I found the receptionist were lovely and welcoming. The GP took the time to listen to all my issues and explained how we would solve each of them together. I could not ask for a better GP experience. Well done to all at Manor Road.

  4. Review titled Don’t care

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 May 2024

I can not complain about the receptionists they have been amazing. I feel as though I have been let down by my GP. I have been with them for years and have never had a complaint. I recently suffered a mental health crisis which lead me to A and E. Oxleas were amazing. They diagnosed me and put me on medication. They sent a letter to GP recommending a sick note and a review with my GP. One week later and the sick note has not been done, despite many phone calls. No appointments available with GP either. Luckily I managed to get a prescription. I will be phoning Oxleas tomorrow to explain what has happened and ask for advice. My mental health has not been helped by this, and I feel like there is no support for people like me who are in the middle of a mental health crisis. I’ve never asked for a sick note before in my life and rarely visit the dr and the one time I really need help and I can’t get it.

  5. Review titled Need for training

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Complete pantomime yesterday leading to visiting three different pharmacies for a simple repeat prescription request which was submitted in good time but only partly actioned. Lack of knowledge and/or common sense displayed in abundance. Still only managed to get an emergency supply of two doses through ringing NHS direct for a full prescription charge! Let’s see what today brings

  6. Review titled Bad personal skills

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 April 2024

I was seen by a doctor who did not introduce themselves or ask what the problem was and instead just looked at me waiting for me to start. An important point about attending a GP appointment is feeling comfortable to disclose all information so the doctor can get a good idea of the problem. I did not feel comfortable at all.

Impossible to contact. Reception cannot take down messages accurately. Wrong prescriptions. Referrals to places that do not do the required procedures.
