Review titled Excellent consultation with the locum GP
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alison Blenkinsopp - Posted on 02 December 2024
Excellent consultation this afternoon for my mum. She was very thorough, answered all her questions and texted an information leaflet through afterwards. A very good GP and a shame this site doesn’t allow me to name her.

Review titled Telephone access issues
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Alison Blenkinsopp - Posted on 28 November 2024
The only way to contact the practice according to their website is via phoning reception which is available 8-6. Yesterday (28 Nov) I got through at around 4.30 after several attempts throughout the day. Most of these just rang out continuously with no one answering after selecting option 1 reception. I was phoning on behalf of my 90 year old mum and when I finally was able to speak to someone (very helpful reception staff member that unfortunately the NHS review system will not allow me to name!) the actual service and advice was great.

Dear Alison We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you experienced when trying to contact us to arrange an appointment. We understand how frustrating this must have been, and we are truly sorry for any distress or delays this may have caused. Our team is committed to ensuring that every patient receives the care they need promptly. We are currently reviewing our communication and appointment systems to address these issues and improve access for everyone. We have experienced a fault on our phonelines in the last few days due to the storms but this has been resolved. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this matter. Kind regards Sue Assistant Practice Manager

Review titled Disgracefull Behaviour
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Chris Bull - Posted on 25 June 2024
I have been at my residence for 4 years and with the practice for the same amount of time, suddenly out of the blue I get a letter saying I'm out of the area the practice serves. Unless there has been a huge landslip between the practice and my house I don't see how this can be. I registered with another practice and told them I would be ordering my repeat prescription at the end of the week, they advised me to order it with Manston Surgery and explain my new surgery might not have it set up for when I needed to order. This I did, explaining everything to them online, when I'd not heard anything towards the end of the following day I called Manston, to be told we have no record of it, in fact you're not a patient with us anymore. So they couldn't wait to get shut of me as a patient and clearly didn't have the decency to put the repeat prescription through before they deleted me off their books. They did me a favour and wasn't bothered when I got the letter, as I kept meaning to register with a decent doctors surgery, as they are really inept all round. But I was annoyed that they did what they did, and if the practice manager reads this, you're more than welcome to write me a apology letter. If I can find out how to take this further I will be doing.

Review titled Terrible Practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

I can’t understand why this surgery is still allowed to take new patients on. Only way to get an appt is to phone each morning which if you are lucky to get through and not spend 35mins on the phone is ok. Treated with utter contempt by the Drs who won’t let you speak and explain your symptoms. Receptionists are fed up clearly and there is a toxic atmosphere in the surgery. I’ve been a patient here for many years and it’s gone down hill rapidly. There seems to be little organisation which leads to chaos. A change of management is needed as the current system isn’t fit for purpose.

Review titled Go above and beyond

IV been with Manston Surgery for nearly 40 years and I have to say IV never had any problems with any Drs. Nurses or Receptionists especially through the Pandemic and all the extra work they all had to endure. The care and compassion is second to none and feel lucky to have this practice as my Doctor's. Thank you to you all and thank you
