Review titled Uncontactable
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2025
I tried to get through to the practice for an appointment late in the day, non-emergency appointment as I am worried about some cancer type symptoms. I tried calling and was the 21st in the queue. I was initially sent a WhatsApp link via text and the phone message says this service is open until 5pm. I tried WhatsApp, but received a message shortly afterwards (at 422) telling me this is closed for the day. I then went back to the phone but was abruptly cut off and the lines closed at 5pm. I think the problem with the service is that the practice offers all these options to get in touch but they are all equally unreliable or not designed to help those seeking help. The answerphone message says these are designed to help triage in a fair and standardised fashion. In reality, it seems as if all these options divide resources. The poorly designed access leaves your staff trying to balance multiple options suboptimally, plus frustrates and aggravates patients and families. I don't mind waiting on the phone, but don't make vulnerable people feel like their time is worthless. To add insult to injury, the NHS app asks follow up questions such as how do you feel the practice involved you in your care, how satisfied do you feel the staff treated you with respect? The thoughtless collection of electronic feedback via questionnaire is pointless. The whole review is about an inability to get through. We couldn't speak to staff. We couldn't get care. Don't get me wrong, the staff at the practice at previous appointments have all been polite, courteous, respectful. However, getting through is really really difficult.

Dear Patient We fully appreciate the frustration that some patients have when they feel that the system has not met their needs. By implementing our new total triage model, we are fulfilling the requirements laid out by NHS England, but we are also improving access for all 29,000 of our patients by ensuring that no matter whether you contact us in person, by phone, or by WhatsApp – your query will be dealt with fairly and equitably. This system has also been proven to reduce the wait time for routine appointments, thereby improving access for all. New systems will take time to embed fully, and there have been some unforeseen challenges with implementing this change, which is why we welcome and thank all patients who have taken the time to share feedback with us. I can assure you that your feedback has been heard, and we will consider this as we review the new system further down the line. We will continue to engage closely with our Patient Participation Group. Kind regards On behalf of MH&BP

A massive thank you to my doctor who was so friendly and helpful for my appointment, he made me feel extremely comfortable from the minute I walked in! He also made it straight forward for me to order my repeat prescription by adding notes next to my name for the lovely reception staff to see, thank you all and Merry Christmas!

Review titled Friendly and efficient
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Joe - Posted on 18 November 2024
So impressed with everything. The staff were lovely and completely transparent with expectations and waiting times right from the start, and everything seemed so well organised. Despite having no appointment, having been sent there by the GP with a fractured foot, I was seen, X-rayed, diagnosed, and sent home in barely more than an hour. By far my best ever NHS experience, and everyone involved should be applauded

Review titled Thank You

Would like to say a big thank you, that my phone call with GP , though delayed due to unforseen circumstances, went ahead later that evening. Not only did I receive the phone call the GP went out of their way to reassure me that it was fine to talk. Didn't expect that. Would have quite accepted that they had to rearrange call . So thank you again.

Review titled Awful customer service from ‘pharmacist’
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 September 2024
I went in to collect my poorly child’s second bottle of medicine to which I had an ‘owed’ piece of paper to give. The ‘pharmacist’ said that there was nothing on the system so she wouldn’t give me the second bottle as she wasn’t a ‘prescribing pharmacist’ she had absolute zero customer service skills, was rude and shouted at me. I do not expect to be told ‘its not my problem’ from somebody in a position of work that is supposed to help you! I suggest she has some serious training on customer service and also suggest sorting the ‘system’ out as now I’ve walked out of there with my poorly child and no medicine when I clearly handed over a piece of paper that states I am owed another bottle of medicine. Simply not good enough. Will be using misteries from now on where the staff are friendly and actually want to help you.
