  1. Review titled Saved my babys life

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2024

I rang reception in the morning worried about my baby as I just had a gut feeling something was wrong ... I got given an appointment straight away...the doctor I saw was amazing she listened to my concerns carefully (i was extremely anxious) she then checked my baby all over (gently with a lovely manner) then calmly reassured me and rang the hospital because we needed to "not panic but go striaght to the hospital " well this gp saved my babys life because on arrival to the hospital my baby went floppy almost lifeless and it became an emergency... he had sepsis and was very very poorly ... had I got been given an appointment by the receptionist and had that doctor not referred me straight away my baby could of collapsed at home or worse in his sleep! Thankfully he made a full recovery after admission but I will never forget that kind doctor and receptionist that listened to me that morning and got my baby the help he needed straight away.... the staff at the hospital were expecting him and so when I ran in with him they acted within minutes of arrival ... cannot thank the gp enough ... people moan they can't get an appointment well maybe its because they keep appointments to those that really need it that's what emergency appointments are for .. brilliant practice

  2. Review titled Refused face to face appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

I realise everybody is busy but not to be offered a face to face or video call is unacceptable. I had a terrible skin rash which I was given a cream for over the phone. Thank God my daughter who is a Consultant Endocrinologist told me to be physically seen. The local out of hours GP did see me physically and diagnosed psoriasis. I will leave the GP Practice and go elsewhere. Patients do need to be seen to diagnose skin issues is the lesson.

We are sorry you found your experience with our surgery unsatisfactory on this occassion, and would welcome you to speak directly to us to talk further. Our website contains a great deal of information for patients and is regularly updated to keep patients informed, we welcome all feedback from our patients as we endeavour to give the best service we can. Our clinicians do request photographs of rashes etc as this often assists the diagnostic process without the need for a face2face consultation, saving you, and us, time. Should the clinician feel that a face2face appointment IS necessary they will make arrangements for this to happen, usually the same day.
