Review titled repeat prescription stupidity
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Many years ago my doctor (who cannot be named) put me on 3 month prescriptions for my tablets, we decided this was a good idea as i also have a 3month b12 injection so running out of pills reminds me to get the injection. Since then i have not forgotten about the b12 and not had to have the multiple injection (5) restart. Last month i retired and was expecting to be able to do a fair bit of travelling and holidays this and for the next few years. With 3 month cycle i need to be here end of april, july, october for a week or two to get everything sorted (prescription is usually 4 days and b12 appointment 1 to 10 days), i have made plans for this year starting with 3 weeks in march visiting my 92 year old mother in Scotland. You have now put me on 2 months between tablet prescriptions, this means i need to be at home at the end of march, april, may, july, sept, oct, nov (this gets worst if you insist on 13 weeks rather than 12 between b12 injections). i thought the nhs was here to help people not hinder them. By the way i have cfs and retirement was beginning to reduce my stress but now you have made my life much harder to organise. Also note i never want to own a mobile phone and my mother does not have internet so ordering in Scotland is not an option (also their pharmacy network does not use the central data base). Being retired i do not pay for prescriptions so this new 2 month cycle does not save you money (is this a recomendation or a rule). In effect you have put a ball and chain round my leg - thank you very much for this. Also there was no forewarning about this so i don't know if i have to cancel planned holidays for later in the year or whether we can get back to lining up the b12/prescriptions. fyi, in the last year i have however had 3 letters from the nhs asking what my pronouns are, good to see you have your priorities right. i've called about this and been ignored and a visit to the practice i just go the "we cant do antything about this from reception", i also notice the reorder web site stops you reordering to build up a contingency supply, all in all, really useful also it is daft i can't put b12, i, nhs, fyi and cfs in capitals - are we still using English?
