Review titled Pathetic lack of system management!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Andre Maskell - Posted on 16 May 2024
Problem in neck led to necessity for investigation. Local GP eventually recommended ENT referral. I have some private cover. Obviously, that helps NHS (as well as myself getting earlier appt.) I looked forward to an early appt but needed the insurance claim form signed by GP. Form was presented to surgery on 13th Mar 24. I was finally able to collect this week (15.05.24). Almost two months to get a form signed with a print off from records is completely unacceptable. And then to charge £20 for the pleasure adds insult to injury - Shame on you!!

Review titled Apointments and understaffed Excuses
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Carl Townsend - Posted on 16 May 2024
Years ago this surgery was very good and has a good level of care but for the last few years this has degraded considerably and appointments are very fee and far between. Our son suffers from Asthma and has picked up a bad cold and cough and normally when this happens he needs medication to help him get better. We tried Mayflower medical and after being in a huge queue on the phone just get excuses that they are understaffed and we simply can't get an appointment for another 5 days and you never actually speak to a medical person and on this occasion and advised us to go to Clacton A&E yet we do not feel that he is at this level as yet but come Tuesday he probably will be. I thought the doctors surgeries were supposed to take away some of burden from A&E not give then extra patients because they are understaffed and always seem to be understaffed.

Review titled Efficient and caring
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thorough investigation of symptoms and quick referral for further tests. I felt reassured and found all staff I dealt with to be caring and professional in their approach. I appreciate that despite the current demands the service is experiencing I was listened to and treated as an individual

Review titled Appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5

I phoned the surgery today to try and make an appointment with a doctor following a letter sent to me and the surgery from a consultant advising that the GP to see me to possibly start a course of treatment, After finally got through and it was confirmed that the consultants letter had been received I would have to phone at 8am each day in the hope that I might be one of the lucky few who is granted an "audience" with a doctor. I am just going now to buy a lottery ticket as I believe I have as much chance of seeing a doctor as winning on the lottery.

Review titled Great receptionist
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Spoke to a receptionist today who went above and beyond, he was so helpful and polite. Receptionists get a bad name which I do not agree with but this person was lovely and definitely did more than he had to for me

Review titled No Appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 February 2024
This surgery has gone downhill massively. You can never get an appointment to see a Dr, even called 111 who told them my 7 month old daughter needs to be seen within 3 working days, to only be denied an appointment and told just keep trying every day. It is outrageous that a child so young cannot even be seen. They seriously need to look into how things are managed as it never used to be this bad. Totally disgusted with this service.

Review titled Never an appointment!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 January 2024
This surgery has become a joke. There is never an appointment and you are never able to see your doctor anymore. If you are lucky you may get a slot to see a nurse. However the waiting room is always empty! Which tells me there are either appointments available or capacity for more! Just this week two times I have been made to go to the urgent treatment centre 14 miles away. Now if I didn’t drive that wouldn’t be possible! Very expensive trip for a chest infection. The service has become poor and it’s more of a call centre now than a doctors surgery! No wonder why partners are leaving!

Review titled No words to describe such incompetence.
Rated 1 star out of 5

Referred for a Scan in December by one of the Doctors phoned on January 2nd for results. Husband does not do computers so has to phone for results. No number to press for results which is very discriminatory towards the elderly who do not do computers.Husband pressed number 3 secretaries she took details and said will transfer you to reception who will give you your results. When she did on came a man’s voice saying I was 28 in the queue so gave up at that point. Why could the secretary not have given out his results to him? They are always moaning about the work load they have in reception we’ll surely common sense for patients that do not do computers allow another number for them to press to get their results instead of referring them back to reception which cannot cope as it is with calls. Somebody is needed to be able to run this place properly which clearly is not the case at present and patients are suffering for lack of decent management. instead of referring them back to reception which is very over loaded and cannot cope as it is.

Review titled Terrible lack of knowledge about what services they provide
Rated 1 star out of 5

Rang to make an appointment, was told oh we don't do those referrals anymore, even after confirming this with the Supervisor I investigated myself and found they do in fact make said referrals.
