Throughout the pandemic and even with the current pressures on the NHS, from my experience, the Medwyn practice continues to offer a great service to its patients. I particularly like the online form to concisely describe the nature of the illness and any concerns when seeking treatment. It has always been followed up with a prompt initial diagnosis telephone call and then a timely face-to-face appointment if required. All of the team work together to put the patient's needs first. This combined with an on-site pharmacy next door with extended opening hours makes this a great facility.

The medwyn surgery provides outstanding and timely care. It is appreciated the high level of care is still available in the community and both the GP’s and nurses are working to maximum capacity- it does not go unnoticed.

Made an online request for a skin complaint that my daughter had. Received a very quick response asking for photographs which was followed up same day by a call from a doctor. Medication prescribed and all sorted now. Very happy with the service and response.

Superb practice. I was able to get a face to face appt quickly and both the GP and nurse were very thorough with a genuinely caring attitude.

I came to have a leg with cellulitis redressed. The nurse took great care and much time to clean it up before dressing it. I left feeling I had been exceptionally well cared for.

I did not see a GP. Waited almost an hour. No explanation for delay until I went and cancelled the consultation.

Dear Mrs. Russell I do understand your frustration at having to wait over 50 minutes for your appointment with the doctor and I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. I am also sorry that you weren't kept informed of the delay. Unfortunately, the ten minutes allotted to each single appointment can only ever be an estimation on our part. Some patients may require barely five minutes while others may need twenty-five minutes or more and this is not something we can foresee in advance. Occasionally the doctor’s surgery may be interrupted by having to deal with an emergency and this can cause long delays. The doctors try hard to address each patient’s needs and this would not always be possible if they stuck rigidly to the ten-minute allocation. I have a team meeting with the reception team next week and I will ensure that they are reminded of the importance of updating patients about clinics that are running late.
