  1. Review titled Completley useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alex Petrovic - Posted on 09 October 2023

Lost eyesight in left eye and waiting for surgery I have called to see if I can have an appointment to check if I have diabetes. I have called at 8 am and was put on hold with message that all operators are busy and that they would answer my call as soon as possible. Two hours and 52 minutes later I have managed to speak to receptionist to inform me that I have to call next morning as they have no appointments available. I explained that I am waiting for eye surgery and that I really need to see a GP. However they said that they are busy and there is nothing that they can do. I am absolutely appalled to have waited for nearly three hours on the phone to be told to call next morning. Just give me my national insurance back so I can go private.

Receptionists keep hanging up constantly when you trying to ring them for 2 hours. Been told that my results are good so I dont need GP review as theyre too busy. you only can book 1 reason for your apt as again they too busy. Doctors asking me what I want from him as he doesnt know how to help or use google to check the symptoms. Joke.

  3. Review titled Awful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

The system and service at this surgery is simply broken and failing the people of Melbourne and the surrounding area. I have a severe chest infection and I am pregnant. I ring up at 8am to try and get an appointment and can't even get through to the waiting list to be spoken to. At 10:30am, after consistently calling since then, I get in the queue and wait a further 25 minutes. Once I am through (3 hours after first starting to try) I am politely told there are no appointments that day, and to call back the next day at 8am to try and get an appointment (which is obviously extremely difficult and a simple case of luck). They can not offer to book an appointment for tomorrow. I am told that if this no good, then I should go to a walk-in centre that is a 45 minute bus journey away, with no guarantee of what the waiting time will be. All of this, whilst I am very unwell. It is not the reception staff's fault, but surely someone needs to be held accountable for the service this practice is providing as this is not an unusual experience.

  4. Review titled Poor service for simple process

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Repeat prescription for a family member who is a temporary resident. This is the second time that a request has gone in, in person, and clearly no prescription was going to be issued but no communication to this effect was passed on. The staff member at reception when we just checked on it just couldn't be bothered and we had to get quite insistent or I'm sure we would have been sent away. My family have been registered here for 25 years and until the last 18 months I have always felt that we were well served but the whole package, not just repeat prescriptions is now tremendous hard work. Appointments have basically reverted to the system employed in the early 1970s; turn up first thing and queue to get seen. The online booking is a joke: Appointments released after midnight and gone in no time. The only slots I can ever find are with a the nurse for a smear, which is of little use to a middle aged man. If there was a viable alternative locally I would certainly try it.
