  1. Review titled Meon Practice, great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Matthew Williams - Posted on 07 December 2024

The doctor phoned me with 24hrs of leaving a blood sample with the nurse. He was very professional and offered a face to face meeting in short time. I meet with him in practice and after a further examination he was very happy that my concerns were only minor. Great service and thanks for being so caring.

Dear Chris Downing, Many thanks for taking the time to contact us and we are sorry you had a poor experience with the practice in your recent contacts. Having checked our records for your recent contacts we can see you attended the surgery at 10am on 9th December and used our self-service pods for blood pressure readings. After receiving these readings, at 12.40pm our Clinical Pharmacist tried calling you in response to high blood pressure, but you were not available, and a message was left on your answer machine. Additionally to this, you submitted an appointment request via reception which was reviewed by our Triage GP at 12.40pm and a telephone consultation was arranged regarding this. Our GP tried to call you at 1.10pm but you were again unavailable, and another call was scheduled by this doctor. Our Clinical Pharmacist tried calling you again at 3.20pm when we were still not able to contact you and another message was left on your answer machine. Our GP tried calling you again at 3.53pm and this time multiple attempts were made for which we remained unable to speak with you. As a result of us not being able to discuss your high blood pressure despite multiple clinicians spending time to reach you, we arranged another telephone consultation which is planed today, Tuesday 10th December. We apologise you are not happy with our services despite the swift and excessive efforts made by our teams, and we hope that our team will be able to contact you today so that we can support you with your clinical concerns. Thank you once again for contacting us, and for being part of our practice. Kind regards, James Leach Digital Transformation and Data Manager

  4. Review titled Friendly practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Barbara easen - Posted on 17 December 2024

The lady doctor examined me was very polite, gentle and kind. I had an idea that it was prolapse. I’m not sure what it was so it is a part of my bladder that not as bad where is my bowel as a prolapse which pops out and is very uncomfortable at times finding that hard when I’ve been down as I get out I’m in a lot of pain waiting to see what the next step is to get this sorted has had enough now I’m getting very tired and don’t sleep very well at night as I can’t get comfortable. Think I might need a scan or x-ray on my lover part of my body to have a look at my prolapse bowel and bladder so just waiting to hear from the doctor to see what next step is I have been quite helpful but it just seems a long time to get to see a doctor waited over a month and in pain and discomfort I also done a wee blood and poo sample which when I phoned to see if my results was in the receptionist said that it was all fine then the next day I get a phone call from the doctor to say in my poo there was some blood so now I have to do a retest in two weeks towing And then see what it could be. I have a feeling it could be my prolapse bowel maybe the lining of the wall could be bleeding a bit but I’m not really sure. I’m not a doctor sooner we get this sorted. The better. My body has just had enough now from all these things are happening to me.

I was pleased to get through on the phone within half an hour and the lady I spoke to was very kind and informative. The doctor rang back within an hour and was considerate and clear. I was able to obtain medicines from my local chemist that day. Very pleased.

  6. Review titled Useless Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 December 2024

Requested a routine appointment via online form, no reply after 7 days. I had to go to the surgery to sort it out and discovered that my request had been closed, supposedly by a GP. On explaining why I needed the appointment the surgery agreed with me and later that day I received an appointment for 21 days time. This is not unique as similar things have happened on my last 3 requests.

Dear Patient, Many thanks for taking your time to share this feedback and we are very sorry you feel the service we offered was useless following your recent contact with the practice. For clarity to our access and how any ‘routine’ request should be managed, once we receive a ‘routine’ appointment request, the next steps should be as follows: • A clinical assessment is made for each request by our GP-led Triage Team • This clinical triage outcome is assigned to each request by our GP-led Triage Team • We aim to respond to all routine requests with this triage decision within seven days • If the Triage Clinician (e.g. a GP) has provided consultation directly, the request is ‘closed’ • If a ‘routine’ appointment is required, our admin team will contact you to book this • Depending on our capacity and any clinical decision on a clinically appropriate timeframe for each appointment, routine appointments are booked within a few weeks of contact • Each triage outcome is made via email, text, or telephone call (pending details on record) • We encourage patients to contact us if they have not heard back within two weeks We are sorry if for any reason you did not receive the GP outcome made via email, text, or telephone call, but we are pleased you received a routine appointment following your contact to us. We cannot investigate the appointment pathway you describe without your personal details, and we do not wish for any patient to feel as if they have not been cared for properly. If you would like us to investigate this and respond to you formally with details of your request and the actions our team have taken, please contact us directly. You can raise a concern or complaint with us in the following ways: 1. Completing a Formal Complaints Form, available from reception 2. By letter to: Complaints c/o The Highlands Practice, 102 Highlands, Fareham, PO15 6JF 3. By telephone with our team: 01329 845 777 We are unable to comment fully without investigating the details, but if you contact us directly we will provide a formal outcome as appropriate. Thank you again for your contacting us and for being part of our practice. We believe all feedback allows us to deliver an improved service. Rated 5 stars out of 5

Was feeling very unwell. Doctor gave me options to try taking stronger painkillers and what to do if they didn’t work. The amazing thing was she called me in the afternoon to see if they had worked - this restored my faith that they actually do care!

  8. Review titled Confidence inspiring consultation

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Keith Cowley - Posted on 20 November 2024

I recently had a consultation with A doctor at the Whiteley surgery of Meon Health Practice concerning a painful growth on my face. She was immediately able to identify the problem, took some photographs of the growth to send to a dermatologist and informed me I would hear more in a few days. Although I had to wait a few days for the appointment with her I was relieved to see her face to face and was grateful for her skill and efficiency. She is a great asset to our local health team and reflects the best aspirations of the NHS. I consider we are indeed fortunate to have her with us.

  10. Review titled A mixed bag

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 December 2024

Submitted a e consultation for my son via healthier together before 9am due to worsening symptoms. This was not processed by the admin team for more than 4 hours! I then finally received contact from the practice after 5pm asking if he can wait for an appointment til the following morning! Obviously the answer was no and an appointment was eventually arranged at an alternative practice. Where we saw a fabulous GP who was very thorough and reassuring; listened to my son and myself and provided the required prescription.
