  1. Review titled No chance to get the phone picked up

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 April 2023

You might need several hours to have the phone picked up. Even if the phone is picked up, the call operators seem to have an abrupt and unempathetic demeanour. I appreciate that you might be dealing with a large volume of calls but a little empathy goes a long way. Finally even if you get a doctor's appointment, there is a small chance it will be an in-person one. It will be a telephone consultation only at almost every time. Once again I understand the NHS is going through very difficult times but I think there is room for improvement at Enki. I would start with this: Allow the pharmacy next door to deal with prescriptions. This will free your operators' and doctors' time. I see no reason to call every month and stay on hold when the pharmacist is fully capable with dealing with it.

  2. Review titled Virtually all GP appointments are gatekept

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Adam - Posted on 20 March 2024

The practice will try their utmost to gatekeep any GP appointments. All I require is to be referred to an external service. Sadly only the GP is authorised to do this. I appreciate the service is busy and under intense pressure but I don't even want to be seen by you. Just refer me for heaven sake. It will take you mere minutes to do this. I tried calling during the mornings at 8am. There are 2 options. - Click 1 for a call back - Wait on hold for the phone to be picked up by an operator Tried the first one and never really received a call back. Tried the 2nd option and the line was dropped after a 20 minute hold. My health condition is deteriorating and Enki is the only obstacle between me and seeing a consultant. I am now forced to go private and pay possibly hundreds or thousands of pounds. I am just hoping they would have the authority to refer people.

  3. Review titled poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

visited this practice today to order a reliever and preventer inhaler for my child who is asthmatic after several attempts for over 7 days to use the medical ordering service with no luck. called the practice before and the number automatically directs you to the service that is not working then cuts off. On arrival gave the receptionist a letter from the hospital indicating change of inhaler doses as the practice claim not to have received this back in November 2022. the receptionist took a copy and then said it will take 48hrs to make changes then issue the medication and cannot guarantee. I explained to the receptionist that my child has ran put of both inhaler completely as been struggling for a week to get one and is at risk of asthma attack considering has has this twice before. The response well it can wait. my concern as a mother of a child who has had x2 episodes of asthma attack is that this can happen and the surgery is not taking this seriously. surely an acute prescription could have been issued even just for the reliver until the surgery gets time to make changes , considering the letter from the hospital clearly states what meds has been changed and dosage ??. Its like nobody takes asthma in children seriously even when its brough to their attention that the child is at risk of an attack. my views and concern as a parent have not been taken seriously . I don't want to have to take this child to ED because of what could be easily prevented. I tried calling 111 but advised I need to call by GP for this and rightfully so as they are open.

  4. Review titled Refused treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 October 2022

I had an appointment, arranged through another Modality surgery, for flu and covid vaccinations at Enki. Enki refused to administer the covid vaccination, saying that they were only vaccinating over-65s or clinically vulnerable patients, which I am not. I pointed out that I had been given an appointment by Modality and that it was not acceptable for them to tell me to go away, when they had stocks of vaccine available. "Go away" is not an acceptable solution to a problem which Modality caused. The practice manager told me that it was too great a risk to give me the vaccine. I pointed out that that was obviously untrue, as I had been refused the vaccine on the grounds that I was not a high risk patient. She then told me it was because Enki wouldn't get paid for doing it. I pointed out that that was not my problem. You can't refuse treatment, or refuse to solve a problem made by your own company, on the grounds of your own internal accounting procedures. You could have reconciled the payments later. My own practice insists that the appointment was valid for patients of my age. I've now had the vaccine elsewhere. I've still got an appointment with Enki. I'm on hold, trying to cancel it. If I don't turn up, it's because you didn't answer the phone. I'm 22nd in the queue at the moment.
