GP is so understanding and informative. She is supporting me through the menopause and uses her knowledge to discuss the options available. Making you feel at ease at each appointment. This practice will accommodate where they can with appointments and all staff are very friendly and patient

Review titled Quick appointment to see Dr
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 April 2024
I brought my child to see dr (h) this evening due to a problem I had originally saw specialist nurse about on the morning. I would like to pass on my appreciation and thanks to dr - she was really welcoming, professional and was lovely with my son (who was upset throughout appointment). She really listened to my concerns and acted on them - Dr is a credit to the surgery and I would be more than happy to have her see to my child again if needed ☺️ Your specialist nurse (F) needs to be more welcoming, not be rude to patients or parents and be more understanding instead of trying to undermine parents and not listen. My child is 2 and not once did she smile or even say hello to them. She did not examine them properly and she did not listen to any of my concerns, when I did question why she wouldn’t try a different treatment she shut me down straight away. She is abrupt and not very understanding or child friendly. Thankfully my child’s treatment was changed by dr.H without any problem and she was in agreement with me.

Review titled Negligence to baby: later tonsillitis diagnosis
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Jessica Roberts - Posted on 27 February 2024
After having Diarrhoea, sickness and rising and falling temperatures for 48 hours my partner took our 9 month old baby to the pharmacy to avoid putting stress on our services, due to her being under 1 year old, we were pointed towards the GP to get her checked out. This is when we decided to book her an appointment (same day) at the surgery. We were aware that this had surpassed the ‘viral’ goalposts. The nurse practitioner checked our baby’s temperature and said it was fine (which it was up and down throughout the day) she listened to her chest, felt her tummy and told us it was viral and as long as she has fluids she’ll be okay. We carried on with regular painkillers and by 19:30, our baby’s temperature was at 39 degrees, she was incredibly unsettled so we decided to take her to Sunderland A&E, although we were there for 6 hours, it took the doctor to look at her ears and throat to easily identify tonsillitis. I’m absolutely appalled that this wasn’t picked up at the doctors and it took my daughter’s temperature to hit a dangerous 39 degrees before she was sorted. A simple look at her mouth and throat sorted this out straight away, why wasn’t this done as routine?

Review titled Exceptional Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by S Foster - Posted on 05 January 2023
During and after my visit, with a severely painful back (which turned out to be due to a fracture to my t10 vertebrae & osteoarthritis in the spine) I received excellent service at the surgery. Firstly, the receptionist found a wheelchair and took me to the lower ground floor for my appointment. Afterwards, the physiotherapist (who gave me a thorough examination), wheeled me back upstairs, through reception to outside and to Whitfield’s chemist nearby. She waited outside with me (because the high step prevented wheelchair access) for my painkillers to be dispensed. She then wheeled me back up to and around the surgery to the car park behind the chemist and to my car. I don’t think I could have made it to my car without the physiotherapist’s help and was so grateful to her (and also the young receptionist). Thank you very much once again.
