Review titled A grateful patient.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jennifer Rhodes - Posted on 29 May 2024
I have been a patient at the surgery for 20 years plus. I have always had courteous and efficient service from all members of staff Recently, after having afew problems I spoke with a receptionist. She was very helpful and kind to me. After a couple of hours I had an appointment to see a G.P.who was so lovely with me, extremely thorough, and so kind. Thank you so much Dr. I had to see reception again, another very kind and helpful lady, who sorted out the problem. Thank you so much reception ladies. Lastly after a change to medication, I saw the pharmacy ladies, As usual they were so helpful, checked everything and sorted the meds for me. Thank you so much pharmacy ladies. I am also so grateful to the nurses who are always extremely kind to me. Thank you so much for looking after me so well.

This is a continuation. I saw the doctor on Friday had bloods and x-ray on Monday and on Tuesday received a text from the doctor. Bloods had uncovered a deficiency and I could pick up the appropriate medication today Tuesday. What more can I say. Amazing

Review titled Amazingly helpful
Rated 5 stars out of 5

You hear much about the problems at Needhamarket Country Practice how reception staff are unhelpful. Well I rang with that in mind. Well I spoke to a young lady and my experience was a happy one. I had tried e consult three days on the trot and it always came as “full try again tomorrow” Although I was number eight in the queue, the wait was short Karen asked me questions and was very understanding and helpful. My call was at 08:30 it was answered by 08:50 and was offered an appointment at 09:40 and saw Dr Messenger in his new Scrubs, He was thorough and did more than I expected sorting X-ray and Blood tests he also was able to my mind at rest about a large lump. I do not understand why so many people complain, we have never had a problem the Pharmacy girls are always very helpfuli and after my experience with the with reception I have nothing but praise for the practice. Thank you for your help. Bob Bruce

Review titled Excellent and swift response
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Patricia Robertson - Posted on 21 June 2023
I had not had reason to consult my GP for a long time and having sadly seen some negative reviews etc, I wondered, bearing in mind the understaffing that the practice needs to contend with, what my experience would be. Well, it was wonderful - I successfully accessed econsult on the 2nd time of trying, I received a text within a couple of hours to expect a call and then was phoned by my GP the same day. The GP took time to listen and explore treatment. All very impressive - especially given how busy they are! A big thank you!

Review titled My experiences of health anxiety and GP support
by runningpe53 - Posted on 10 July 2023
My Nan passed away in October 2022 from aggressive brain tumours. In early 2023 I started experiencing high level anxiety, at the time it was not relating to anything specific, however, it then developed into health related anxiety - more specifically fears around cancer and tumours. I was incredibly scared, thought I was going to die and didn't know where to turn. I had been to the GP a couple of times prior and had been given support on how to manage it. However, I attended an out of hours GP Streaming service who provided me with more support. The next day I contacted the GP again as I was really struggling, the anxiety was debilitating. The GP called me and asked me a lot of questions and then asked if I could go in a see her later that day. That appointment with the GP was life changing - she was incredible, listened to me, understood me and what I was going through and provided me with huge support to get better. The GP prescribed me some medication to calm me down and relax me and then worked with me on a weekly basis to support my anxiety and adjust my medication when needed. The GP remained in contact with me for over a month and provided me with continuous care (something which is so rare nowadays). I am now a few months out of the worst bout of anxiety I have ever experienced and I put so much of it down to how amazing my GP was. I am so incredibly grateful for what she did for me.

Review titled The NHS is open - but not in Needham market
Rated 1 star out of 5

I find it saddening and frustrating that the message is constantly being pushed that “our nhs is open” . This does not seem to apply to Needham County practice who seem resilient at doing the opposite and keeping patients out . If you phone you get told to hang up unless it’s an emergency, if you try E consult as advised it’s always closed. I twice tried to ask for help at reception and although the reception staff were polite and nice the message was they were unable to help . This is not a short term problem and if it relates to staffing shortages surely they need a triage system that simply is just no phone 111 if you are worried. 111 is not suitable for everything- sometimes you just need to see or even speak to a doctor and even being able to schedule that in would be help. This must be the 7 or 8th time I have tried for the same reason.
