Review titled Repeat prescription delay
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by John Phillips - Posted on 24 October 2024
I’m on Heart Failure meds. I put my repeat prescription form in on Sunday 20th Nov so they had it for the Monday morning because I need to wait 72 hours. On Thursday I went to pick up my drugs but it hadn’t been signed off yet as I was told they will get round to it. So now I’m out of some of the drugs and reception said they will get to it soon. So that’s heart failure drugs that I must take regularly. Good service ???

Dear John, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and please accept our sincere apologies for the delay with your prescription. We understand the critical importance of your heart failure medication and the impact that any delay can have on your health and peace of mind. We issued your prescription on 24th October 2024 at 3:23 a.m., and it should now be ready for collection. We are very sorry for the delay in processing it. Unfortunately, one of our GPs has had to take emergency leave due to an unforeseen personal matter, which has significantly impacted our team. This has left us with only one GP, We have taken on a locum GP to manage the workload However despite our team’s efforts to keep up with demand, we experienced some delays in our prescription processing. Thank you for your understanding during this time. We are actively working to prevent this from happening in the future, and we apologise sincerely for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused. Kind regards, Nene Valley Surgery

Review titled Appointment danger
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jeff Coverdale - Posted on 09 July 2024
A doctor's that will no longer take appointments over the phone but makes you go online to book only a phone call from the doctor. I waited over 30 minutes on the phone to be rudely told to go online. When I informed them I can't just go on line as I'm at work and drive for a living they just didn't care. Once I managed to go online and book an appointment the site tells you sorry all spaces are taken phone 111 or go to a and e Nothing like passing the buck down the line. Shocking service!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are genuinely sorry to hear about the difficulties you encountered when trying to book an appointment. I want to clarify that we do take appointments over the phone. However, when all available appointments have been booked, we advise patients to submit their requests through Anima. This system allows a GP to triage the patient, ensuring that urgent cases are seen within 24 hours and routine appointments are scheduled within 2-3 days. We regret that the system did not allow you to make your request at the time you tried to use it. Your feedback is invaluable, and we appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. We are actively working with Anima to resolve this problem and prevent it from happening in the future. We understand the frustration and inconvenience this has caused, especially considering your work constraints. Our aim is to provide the best possible care and service to all our patients, and we are sorry that we fell short in this instance. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to improve our systems. If you need any further assistance or if there is anything we can do to help you in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Review titled It’s all about the man on the door!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Glenn - Posted on 20 May 2024
My Wife came to your practice today for a blood test. She’s very nervous when she has these done but all she could talk about when she rang me afterwards was the man on the door! She said how nice the man was on the door as she went in and was very happy and enthusiastic about his job. He made everybody smile and is a credit to your staff. She had to go back as they hadn’t wrote her DOB on her form and he gave her a great compliment of it obviously being because she didn’t look old enough to be having a blood test without an adult haha!

Review titled Awful

Tried twice last week to get an appointment only to be told they are full and to try another day or Corby Treatment Centre. Attempted a call again this morning, two phones and over 500 calls later, we gave up! The whole point of having a designated doctor is so you can see them and have a rapport with them. Our previous doctors always asked about the family, they had the personal touch! Shame we had to leave! Something really does need to change as I am sure we are not the only people experiencing this.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding the challenges you've faced in securing appointments at Nene Valley Surgery. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we want to assure you that we are actively working to address these issues. We understand your frustration and would like to inform you that our new cloud-based telephone system is scheduled to go live on February 24, 2024. This upgrade aims to enhance our appointment booking process and improve overall accessibility for our patients. Despite recent additions to our team, including a Physician Associate and two new Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), we acknowledge that our staff is currently managing a high workload. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Rest assured that we are committed to doing our best to provide as many GP appointments as possible. Due to the growing number of registered patients at our surgery, we acknowledge the difficulty in securing appointments with specific named GPs. However, we want to assure you that all GPs working at our practice have access to your medical records and can offer comprehensive assistance.

Review titled Unable to make appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was shocked at how impossible it is to make an appointment. We rarely need to see a doctor. The last time was well over 5 years ago. We used to be able to attend the surgery at 8am and make a same day appointment. I tried this with my daughter today, to find that this is no longer possible, and only telephone bookings are possible, as this is “fairer”. Literally after 100 attempts, I gave up. I checked online and the only appointment is over 2 months away, and no option to see a female doctor. There seems to be little point in having a named GP. The only way to see a doctor seems to be to go to A&E, or the Corby urgent care facility. The final irony is that in order to make a complaint, you have to phone the surgery! The most appalling service imaginable!
