The other day I felt the need to see a doctor and Ring the GP service. After listening to all the unnecessary automated message that you are forced to listen, I finally get the options and chose 1 to book the appointment. I was transferred to the reception and informed me that they only book appointments at 8:00 or 14:30. So why I was given the option to book appointments before ? And why Does it have to be only at this specific times to book and appointment? Once I ring 5 minutes before the time and she didn’t want to book me the appointment. I had to call back 5minutes after, wait 8min on the cue , to talk with the same person and book the appointment. This system is ridiculous and not patient friendly at all.

After being on hold for 45mins and being told I was “now 1st in the queue” I’d had enough and walked to the surgery (still on hold) to be met by 2 receptionist that said “the phones are not ringing?” This needs to be rectified, it’s not good enough. I needed to call later that day again to make a second appointment, I was on hold and moved down the queue to 1st place again from 3rd. Held for 30mins (in 1st place!) still nothing…. ….so i drove to the surgery again (still on hold) to be met with a closed practice from 2pm!!! The phone lines need to say “the practice is now closed” Not keep people holding in 1st place. It’s not good enough. The whole phone line service at this practice is incompetent. Don’t bother calling.

I wasn't able to book online at first and was refused a booking unless I called or went at exact times. Cannot book in advance. Had to fill in a lengthy form for them to call me at a time I was not able to pick. Was told they will not be calling a second time. My mental health was not good, I'm out of tablets and has deteriorated since. If I could opt out from paying taxes for the NHS I would.

So grateful to staff at surgery today who sorted my prescription request so quickly - much appreciated at this super busy time.
