Phoned 30 times no answer went over there at 15.00 rang bell lady opened window explain my situation and said oh we have training said you could have a message on voicemail. Then old lady came in the window very rude and said go to a&e. Went to pharmacy who helped me brilliant but needed antibiotics. Ended up at minor injuries and dressed my infection.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback, please accept our apologies for the difficulties you encountered with the surgery. It sounds as though you attended the surgery on Totton Target day when ALL the surgeries in Totton are closed in the afternoon for mandatory clinical training. The phone lines were closed but did have a message on to direct patients to other services if their problem could not wait until we reopened on the Friday morning. All clinicians were at an off site training venue. No GP's, Nurses or Health Care Assistants were in the surgery. All admin staff who normally work must also attend mandatory training on site. We are pleased you were able to get the help you needed from the pharmacy and the Urgent Treatment Centre. Regards New Horizons Medical Partnership

  2. Review titled Can't complain, this time

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Well, until now I would join the chorus. It is almost impossible to get an appointment; some, but by no means all, of the receptionists should find employment that better suits their skills, and generally actually seeing a doctor is almost impossible. There never seems to be more than one doctor working at any one time. However, we have a new GP, better keep anonymous, but she has been brilliant, resolving issues, and just generally sorting stuff. I've had COVID for two weeks, and at 80, it's a bit scary. I was feeling really really ill, and called 111. They called the surgery, and five mins later, a Doctor called me, ten minutes later a paramedic turned up. Just brilliant, well it's not, it's how it should be, but very efficient, and comforting. The paramedic was great, very knowledgeable with superb people skills. That was my recent experience. The last time I wrote a review, they wouldn't publish it, so times have changed.

  3. Review titled Unsatisfactory.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Phoned to get appt for next week as not feeling well but didn't feel I was an emergency. Told all appointments next week taken and I will have to ring 8.30am Monday to get appt for same day the following week. Phone lines are so busy at that time I shall be lucky to get through especially on a Monday. I thought they were supposed to be improving their service but quite frankly it's dire!

  4. Review titled Do any doctors work at the Practice?

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My partner received an email from the Practice asking her to make a blood test appointment. Upon phoning she was told to call back before 8.30am the next day. This she did and was told that the next available spot was in 3 weeks' time. Apparently the phlebotomist only works Tuesday mornings. So, why can't the Practice nurse perform the task as she has always done an extremely good job in the past? I have been suffering from quite a painful earache for the past 3 weeks and decided to make an appointment to see a doctor. The receptionist didn't ask who I was or what the problem was but told me to phone back, guess when, before 8.30am tomorrow. He said that I would be given an appointment a further week ahead. Ouch! I very rarely ask to see a doctor but the service has declined drastically over recent times and is now bordering on the pathetic.

  5. Review titled No longer satisfactory

Trying to get an appointment to even speak to a doctor is like trying to get past security to the Royal family! Your advice every time you do get past the massive call que when you call there are no appointments left and to call back at 2pm. Call back at 2 same again. Your better off not even bothering calling the surgery and rather 111, always helpful, will get you a call back if needed from someone to discuss and if necessary a call or a appointment at a surgery.

  6. Review titled Abysmal.....and going downhill all the time

Rated 1 star out of 5

It's been over 3 weeks now since I was advised to contact my GP for an appointment regarding a recent flare up of a pre existing health issue. Obviously phoning this practice isn't for the faint hearted so I thought, fine I'll just use e-consult; only to find that the practice isn't accepting online requests right now. According to the online message it will be possible to submit a request from 8am tomorrow which wouldn't be so bad, except tomorrow never comes. It's been saying that every day for the past 3 weeks! No explanation as to why this isn't available. I have tried phoning, but it's basically a waste of time. At the beginning of the call, a message delivered by a very bored sounding male voice informs patients that callbacks are unavailable, which leaves you with no choice but to hold and hope that someone answers. My experience is that nobody does - the last time I tried I was informed that there were over 60 people ahead of me in the queue and when I finally gave up, nearly 35 minutes later, I was still hearing that there were over 60 people ahead of me. Which obviously makes me wonder whether there is anyone there at all. I have no idea who these lucky people are who manage to get an appointment when they need one and have no issues but I am definitely not one of them.
