    I had recently relocated due to a bereavement. I am 25 and my health is deteriorating from stress I had booked in with my GP for a blood test and the practice took me off the books 27 days early and cancelled my urgent blood test. The reception staff spoke disgustingly to me leaving me very emotional during an already awful time. The staff need training in human interaction clearly.

    Dear Ms Whateley, I'm so sorry you have had a bad experience with the events surrounding your relocation. I've looked into this and I can see that the practice received a deduction request which occurs when a patient re-registers with a new health care provider. Unfortunately, we have no option other than to accept the deduction and at this time, we are no longer then able to honour pre-booked appointments as your medical records and the right to add to them move to the new provider. I'm happy to discuss this with you if you feel it would be beneficial. I would also appreciate the opportunity to investigate your concerns around the treatment you received from our reception team, as it is not at all in the manner we would expect from our team. Please do feel free to reach out to me directly by calling the surgery at your convenience. In any event, I will be running a thorough audit of your calls to the practice as these are all recorded and if the interaction you mentioned occurred during one of these, please be assured we will be dealing with it with the highest priority.     I recently visited this GP for the health problem and was extremely impressed with the care I received. The doctors were attentive, followed up with me regularly, and quickly arranged for an MRI and X-ray at the hospital. I felt well taken care of throughout the process and highly recommend this practice to my family and friends. Excellent service!

    the receptionist was helpful got an appointment that day , the doctor took time to listen and understood my problem and prescribed what I needed , further tests will be carried out as to why my condition happened

    I have consistently been impressed by the exceptional level of care and service provided by both the telephone representatives, GPs, and nurses. In my recent interactions with this medical practice, I needed assistance with a somewhat complex matter, and the representative demonstrated their ability to navigate the situation proficiently. They not only consulted with others seamlessly but also rearranged an appointment for me while combining it with another for my convenience. What's remarkable is that this high standard of service from the telephone representatives is not an isolated incident; it is the norm. The telephone representatives truly stand out for consistently delivering exceptional service. In a separate but equally noteworthy experience, I engaged in a consultation with a GP. The process was smooth and efficient as the telephone representative explained what information was required and offered various ways for me to produce that information in a manner that made me feel comfortable. They scheduled a telephone appointment with a GP for the same day. The GP I spoke with was not only professional and courteous but also conducted a thorough investigation into the matter at hand. The advice and the plan provided by the GP for next steps going forward were of great value to me, and I am truly grateful for their help. The consistent level of service extends to face-to-face appointments as well. Whether it's a phone call or an in-person visit, every interaction with the professionals at this establishment has left me impressed with their professionalism, proficiency, and courtesy. In summary, I can confidently state that the exceptional level of service I have received, both for myself and my mother, surpasses what I've heard from others about their experiences with GP services at alternative establishments. I am truly grateful for the consistently high-quality care and service provided by New Islington Medical Practice.

    I took time out of work for an appointment to be told to “keep my eye on it” for 4 weeks. Prior to this appointment, I had already sent images online and answered the same questions that I was then asked again at the appointment. The doctor had all the information in the notes so unsure as to why I was asked all of this again. Surely a decision to “keep an eye on it” could’ve been decided from the images and information I had already provided and saved me time / a journey / taking time out of work. Really frustrating and disappointing service.

    Dear patient, as you've not left your details, I am unable to contact you directly but if you wouldn't mind contacting the surgery and asking for myself, I would very much like to investigate this for you. I'm sure that there will be documentation from the clinician you saw which explains the reason for the plan. Often, there are issues that are ruled out after physically seeing a patient but a safety net would be to advise the patient to monitor for changes.     I have several complicated conditions and have always found the practice to be supportive, to advocate when needed, give brilliant advice and care, the range of Doctors they have, demonstrate a wide range of specialisms, all the staff care, and are approachable. Would recommend without hesitation! My recent call with Dr was amazing, he listerned to my concerns, agreed to chase and clarify my waiting for 2 surgeries, reviewed my current health needs, prescribed a contining medication from the hosptial, asked how I was managing and made suggestions on how to manage going forward, what struck me on this call was the Drs willingness to help chase up my waiting list, as my symptoms are getting worse, it made such a difference to be heard, and supported. The telephony staff are always helpful, professional and polite, the nursing staff are great, and good at putting people at ease. Thank you for your continued support nimp

    I had an appointment at this practice at the end of July, I was seen in good time and the waiting area was big, airy and comfortable. The doctor that saw me was friendly and gave me a thorough examination setting my mind at ease. Thank you

    Had a test for COPD. My Dr was lovely, she warned me first that it’s difficult to do. There is a lot of blowing into a tube. Untill it’s saying they have enough info. I was very happy with the whole experience . My Dr noticed I looked a lot better and I explained how I have decided to be very proactive in looking after my health since my diagnosis. I’m taking it very serious building my immune system and losing weight at the same time. I’m glad she noticed a difference since she last saw me at Xmas. This reassured me it’s working and for her to comment made my day.
