  1. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 December 2023

Excellent from start to finish. Got an on the day in person appointment. Professional and caring approach and kept me informed with what was going on and the next steps. Referred me to hospital, got a phone call within 2 hours and an appointment at hospital later in the day. Extremely impressed with New Road Surgery and Kidderminster Hospital. Have been very fortunate up until now to have never needed an emergency referral. It made a stressful and traumatic experience as smooth as it could have been. Thank you.

  2. Review titled Very poor phone back appointment service

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Maureen Baker - Posted on 03 January 2023

Rang at 10:00. Told to ring back at 14:00. Then told to ring back at 08:30 the next day to make an appointment then if there are any available otherwise a phone appointment would be available on the 17th January two weeks later. I wouldn’t class my ailment as an emergency but not something I can wait two weeks for possible bronchitis/sinus/ear infection following a bout of covid. Does that constitute an emergency call?

We are sorry for the experience you had last January and sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your feedback. We have listened to patients feedback regarding accessing the surgery, and since July 2023 we have implemented a new triage system. Patients should find it much easier to get through on the phones as you only need to ring first thing if you require an on the day appointment for something urgent e.g. chest infection. Routine appointments can be booked at any time of the day, with 98% of all appointments being booked within 2 weeks, and the majority of routine appointments being booked within 2 days. We hope if you have used the surgery lately, you have had a much better experience. Thank you for your feedback.

  3. Review titled Terrible waiting times

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 November 2022

Having injured knee, took several weeks to see GP then 3 further weeks to get x ray. Results sent to surgery, no response from GP regarding results and treatment possibilities. Had to contact surgery to get an appointment with original GP, 3 weeks wait. Reluctantly agreed to have phone "Consultation with locum GP ( who would not know my case). If i wanted the original GP would have to wait 3 weeks!! When trying to contact surgery advised of a queue of over 30 this at 8.40 am. Reception advised that I would have to ring at 8.30am as this was when appointments were made on a block booking service. Clearly this is a hopeless situation, the practice and service has clearly gone down hill since Covid. Where is patient care? Seems there needs to be a total review of booking arrangements and that of arranging face to face consultations as this is when much can be determined by the physician. Over to you to improve and provide patient satisfaction.
