I cannot speak highly enough of the ongoing treatment, support and kindness I have received. Another appointment where the GP was hugely helpful and supportive providing clear actions going forward.

  2. Review titled Outstanding service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have required a lot of help and support over recent months for complex health issues. Today's appointment was another example of compassionate care and support where I received kindness, help and understanding. I was given a generous amount of time and not rushed in anyway. I can't speak highly enough of the service and medical input I have received from Newcastle Medical Centre. Thank you so much

  3. Review titled First Class Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

GP was attentive, kind, listened carefully, followed up with actions, fed back on previous actions and was very helpful and supportive. There was no pressure or rush on me to finish the appointment quickly. There was a real feeling of care. I could not fault the appointment in any way, in fact I would say 'Outstanding care'

  4. Review titled Really Thorough and Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 October 2023

Despite the massive pressure on the NHS and primary care I really feel this practice is managed well and the doctors i see regularly are so good at really trying to investigate issues and not treat reactively as well as allowing room for advocacy. Almost always get an appointment when I need one, and everything is done efficiently. As long as you follow their guidance you should get an appointment.

  5. Review titled Told I was wrong about my symptoms

by gardenin - Posted on 09 March 2023

I came in with a painful bump on the back of my head, the doctor tried to tell me it was just part of my skull, but it wasn’t as it was asymmetrical to the other side, causing me pain and headaches. Only once I repeated the symptoms did they did say it was swollen compared to the other side. Then said vaguely it could be this, could be that and gave me antibiotics. The doctor was 4 minutes behind schedule which i was okay with but the whole appointment felt very rushed and like I didn’t receive good quality care. Doctor even asked if i was pregnant as I walked out the door. So unprofessional and now I have to seek a second opinion because more painful bumps have surfaced, and the doctor didn’t explain to me that this might happen, just tried to tell me I was wrong about the symptoms i was experiencing. Disappointed in this service

  6. Review titled Poorly managed

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 January 2023

I have tried to call three times today to speak to someone, they have had a message all day that the practice is closed for a meeting from 12pm-1pm so to call back after that- it's now 4 pm and I haven't been able to get through because after the message the phone call ends. It's ridiculous you can't access any care

  7. Review titled Booking routine or non- emergency appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Faye Slade - Posted on 25 November 2022

I have tried to book my regular appointment for my contraceptive injection this morning, just over two weeks in advance. I have been told that I cannot book an appointment until a maximum of a week in advance (the Monday of the week before to potentially book an appointment in the next week). This is similar to my experience in the last two months when trying to get a non- emergency appointment with the GP, where I was told that I have to call at 8am for an appointment the same day and advance booking is not possible. There appears to be no appreciation of the working lives of patients and that for non- emergency situations, it is not always possible to take time out from work at short notice or indeed to be free to make a call (and potentially have to remain on the line for some time) at 8am. I have been a patient of this surgery at its present and previous location for over 26 years and have been using injectable contraception for over 22 years. In the past I was able to make my next appointment for Depo when leaving the current one (i.e. 3 months in advance) and the gradual change of approach over the years to the current situation is unfortunate. It is also ironic that the practice nurse set up a text reminder to me to book my next Depo appointment to be sent to me two weeks ahead of the due date, given that making an appointment at this point is apparently impossible.
