Review titled Disappointed today
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 October 2024
I have been ill for 3 days, tried to message the surgery today but the online system closes during the morning. So I decided I was happy to ring and wait in the telephone queue, except that was closed too because the queue was too long. Instead I am sat in urgent care as instructed by 111 for a 5 hr wait. I just wanted to get a message to a doctor to see what they could recommend. Other surgeries around Milton Keynes do not have the same issues and I had expected with now 3 surgeries in the group that there would at least be a possibility of waiting in a telephone queue.

Review titled Absolutely terrible

Unable to speak to anyone on the phone as there are 50 people waiting and the online system is closed. This means I have to go to hospital, no wonder everything is in such a mess.

Review titled Awful baby care/postnatal care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 September 2024
Since having my son in May 2024 my experience with his medical care has been dreadful. I have had to beg for every appointment, including his 6 week check up (which happened at 8 weeks) and his 12 week vaccinations, which he is now receiving at 17 weeks. I had to go into the surgery to find this out, I have not been given a confirmation text or letter. This is completely unacceptable and not only leaves my son vulnerable to disease, but has left me feeling like we are invisible. Due to going abroad I had to reschedule his vaccinations. I reached out at least 3 weeks beforehand, during which I called at least 6 times and visited the surgery twice in order to speak to someone, at which point they always told me we were ‘marked as urgent’ and would ‘receive a call within the week’. This was a lie, I received no call and had to go in to the surgery to sort this out. The communications system in this surgery is appalling. I’m disgusted that I have been lied to and said they will contact me, with no attempts being made. We will be changing surgeries as soon as my son has had his vaccines, 5 weeks behind schedule. This is a huge shame as my pregnancy care was great, but since having my son it’s like we don’t exist.

Review titled Thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mark b - Posted on 17 September 2024
I have not needed to see a gp for quite a long time, years. Following a burn to my ankle that wasn’t healing very well I was after some advice. I left a call Me back message at the med centre, was called back & a phone consultation followed a couple of hours later. That was followed by an in person appointment the next morning & I’ve just had a follow up appt today. Both times the ladies who saw me were professional & engaging. I felt that I had top drawer care & advice that was easy to access, resulting in My burn healing well despite its awkward position. I just wanted to express how grateful I am to have such good care available so close to home & to say thank you again to both of my care providers.

Review titled The Matron Service
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by CAROL NICHOLSON - Posted on 16 October 2024
the two ladies from the Matron team visited my husband and I at our home, mainly for his memory problems, we found them both most helpful courteous and understanding to both our on going needs, and have referred him to the memory service and also respected my needs with his care, both physically and mentally it is just a most efficient and necessary service for patients and carers alike. Thank you so much ladies I should also like to praise your call back system when the telephones are really busy, Just dial 0 when you are prompted. I have used this service 2 or 3 times recently and have been called back within two hours and either offered an appointment face to face or a telephone appointment with a Doctor, Paramedic or a Nurse Practitioner and even a Pharmacist, it saves waiting for ages for your call to be answered. A brilliant service Thank you

Review titled No Health Service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Sandra Oxley - Posted on 16 May 2024
Access is impossible. I tried to access online triage, it was "temporarily unavailable try again 8.00 am Friday or ring". I bit the bullet anticipating a long wait but no that too was full. The alternative was 111 or walk in centre. The last time I experienced that was after the same experience with Newport Pagnell Medical Centre in February with my husband and we left A&E 14 hours later still without final results of tests. His "care" is still ongoing at a snail's pace. When you manage to access a practitioner the care is good assuming you're still alive by then.

Review titled Absolutely shocking wait times
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 April 2024
I called at exactly 8am Monday morning for an appointment. To my dismay I was caller number 46 in the queue. My call was answered an hour and fifteen minutes later, and the best they could do was a telephone appointment on Friday afternoon. During the appointment the GP asked me to come to the surgery at 4pm. Unfortunately I subsequently had to cancel, so I called them at 3pm, to find I was caller number 20 in the queue. It's now 3:20pm and I'm caller number 14. It's likely I won't be able to cancel before my actual appointment. I was previously with Kingfisher Surgery, who were great, but they recently merged with Newport Pagnell and Willen, with the Newport surgery acting as the main one, and now the service is the worst I've ever experienced in my life. I don't know if it's early teething problems from the merge or if they were totally unprepared. Either way, having to wait this long to speak to someone is totally unacceptable.

Review titled Fantastic experience every time
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 June 2024
The online booking system is quick, efficient and easy to use. It allows you to give details of the issue which aids triage of appointments. When using this I have received a call back the same morning (for more urgent issues) and there was no waiting on the phone to get through! The doctors are kind, compassionate and take the time to explain conditions and what the options are. At a recent appointment for a condition with my hand, the doctor noticed I had had a flare up of a skin condition (unrelated to the reason for appointment) and prescribed some medication. Following the appointment I have had two referral letters. I have to say this is the best experience of seeing a GP I have had in my life (although the provision of care at the practise is always excellent). I had been bracing myself to have to persuade the doctor as to why a referral would be necessary but it was offered without any request from myself. The fact the doctor noticed a second issue and checked in with regards to that was incredibly reassuring. Having the ability and time to treat the whole person as opposed to individual issues shows compassionate care at its best and in a surely better for society (and the NHS!) in the long run.
