Review titled Poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2024
GP’s only appear to do telephone consultations, they pass their work to associates who are not acting promptly, was told a referral was being completed a week later still no referral even though I am struggling with severe symptoms that stop me working. Was due a telephone consultation today 15.30-15.40 it’s now 18.00 still no call.

Review titled GP call back after e-Consult
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2024
I completed an e-consult in the morning and received a phone call from a doctor at lunch time which unfortunately went straight voice mail and asking me to ring back, which I rang back the surgery within 2 mins of missing the call and had to wait in queue for 30mins and frustratingly when I got to the front of the call queue, the call got cut off. So can I suggest when a doctor calls they ring twice in a row as often patients miss the first call. And then if the call is unanswered to leave patients with a different number to call rather than to use the standard number for appointments and be sat in a queue, only to be told when you get through we’ll put you back on the list which makes me worry that had I not rung back and sat in the queue twice no one would have rung me back. I was then on edge that I’d miss the call again and walked round with the phone in my hand for the rest of the day. When the doctor did call at 6.20pm they were great.

Review titled The services is deteriorating week by week
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Caron - Posted on 27 February 2024
I’ve been with this practise for almost 30 years and am horrified by the service and patient care that is being shown recently. I’ve been trying to get to the root cause of a condition now for over 2 years. If I can manage to get a telephone consultation (don’t even think about seeing a GP F2f) I usually have to wait 2 weeks, then another 2-4 weeks for a nurse appt for blood tests, then, once the test results are back - another 2 weeks before you get to speak to a GP again. Often, the GP then gives you your results and sends you in your way - regardless of whether said results address original issues! Reception do their best, some are warmer than others. Altho today, when I called to ask when I could expect my GP phone consultation (that I’ve been waiting 9 days for), I was told ‘she hasn’t even started yet, so you’ll just have to wait’. I mean come on. This is becoming obscene. Really poor patient care. Absolutely shoddy.

Review titled Brilliant!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2024
I had an incident on 31st January and went to the surgery because of the urgency. The receptionist recognised the urgency and I was seen by a Doctor within 30 minutes. Following the assessment and examination I was put on a two week cancer referral. A week later I was being assessed and further appointments made for follow up. Absolutely brilliant and goes to show the NHS is there when you need them!

Review titled E consult and appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 January 2024
E consult is nothing more than a way of booking an appointment. Why can you not complete the form at any time (as it is it gets "closed" if it is at capacity on any given day). Also if you are offered an appointment you may have as little as an hour or so notice. How is a working person supposed to arrange an appointment?

Review titled Rude receptionist
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2023
I had an unpleasant experience over the last few days with a member of the surgery’s reception team. First over the phone, where I can only describe their tone as irritable, sarcastic and biting. I was asked for my name, and then while I was saying it, my date of birth and then again my name. Every question I asked was met with an expression of exasperation. The following day I went to the surgery and encountered the receptionist face to face and was met with exactly the same attitude. It was so unpleasant and uncomfortable that I was left shaken by the experience. I imagine that this person has either never been trained in what a customer facing role should entail or else they are simply in an unsuitable position. Whatever the case, I’m certain that I am not the only person who has had this experience and I would urge the surgery to train or move this person to a non-customer facing role as soon as possible.

Review titled Terrible Practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2023
I have been with this practice for nearly 15 years and has gone from bad to worse. The reception/admin team are not professional at all they are very rude. I called in regards to a referral that was requested to be done by the hospital 5 weeks ago and they said that they had never received it at all. Even though I know it had been sent. 5 weeks later I have had to contact hospital to email it over and they to the surgery to get done and yet again they have not done it. And when I ask to speak to the practice manage and was promised a call back hey presto no call back. It’s really sad as Service and doctors gone downhill. So bad I am looking into moving doctor surgery my whole family.

Review titled Very impressed with the Pharmacy team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gill - Posted on 23 September 2023
Massive shout-out for the Pharmacy team at Northfields. On arrival on holiday we realised that a family member had forgotten to pack all of their medications. I e-mailed Northfields Surgery to seek advice, within a couple of hours I received a reply from the Pharmacy team. Following a short exchange of e-mails a pharmacist was able to confirm first thing the following morning (hence within about a working hour) that the required prescription had been sent to a convenient pharmacy; it was ready and waiting when the patient went to collect it. Very well done - from a very relieved household.

Review titled Doctors & Nurses are good but Reception & Admin is poor.
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 September 2023
The doctors & nurses at Northfields are always supportive and welcoming, however the reception team can often be overheard speaking unprofessionally about a number of patients. The fact that the practice's eConsult can reach capacity before midday is absurd. Processes need to be put in place to allow more eConsults per day and prioritise patients in order of need, not a blank 'computer says no approach' which is the case at present.

Review titled Very prompt response
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 July 2023
I had a suspected virus infections and asked to speak to a Doctor. I got a phone within an hour or so, a prescription for COPD Rescue Pack immediately. A week later my wife was unwell and had picked up the virus from me. We decided to take COVID tests and both were positive. I went to the surgery for immediate advice and was seen straight away. Doctor was very sympathetic and gave good advice and arranged a Hub Doctor to call the next morning. The surgery has improved considerably in last year!
