I contacted the team at Baring road recently for an eye problem. They messaged me back within minutes and arranged an onward referral. I was seen in the eye clinic quickly and efficiently and was really impressed. The doctors here are really helpful and the online contact form worked really well. Thank you!

  3. Review titled The worse practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Bianca - Posted on 25 March 2023

I have a baby 2 weeks old . I give to them the documents for registration, after 3 days my midwife told me to go with the baby at the go to be checked about the chest , and something what the baby’s had on his tongue. I call the practice and they said they can’t find the baby , and they said they can’t see the baby because is not registered. I said but it a baby two weeks old . And the midwife said they are not allowed to say no to can check a newborn baby . This is not first time when they do like that . I have another baby 1 year and 3 months old , she don’t was feel okay and she had a swallow on the right side of the belly, I was know is something for the go not for emergency because the baby was okay, playing not fever nothing. But they never have any appointments available. I called from 8:00 o clock and me and my husband thinking that one of us will can make an appointment I stay on phone until 8:30 they answer and they said they don’t have any appointments Available. I said it a second day when I call from 8 o clock in the morning and never they don’t have any appointments available, I said is a one year baby old , is not normal to call 2 days continuously for an appointment. I call 111 they said to call the gp , I said the gp don’t want to see her , I go emergency I stay 2 hours just to can be in the end send to the gp on the hospital where I was need to wait 4 hours again to see someone my daughter. Because is not emergency what she had is for gp . I go to the gp practice again and try to make a complaint because is not ok what they do . The doctor from the gp practice are good , the problem is the receptionist, they are rude in the phone sometimes.

Dear Bianca, Thank you for taking time to write a comment on NHS Choices. I do apologize for the inconvenience you had about your baby's registration with our practice. Also you have found difficult to get through on our telephone lines and I knowledge that at particular times of the day we experience an increased volume of calls ie: 8am and 1pm, outside of these times the wait may be long but not as long as 30minutes. Have you downloaded the NHS app as you are able to book appointments via this as well as using patient online access, if you would like register for any of these and please come into our reception desk and a member of the reception team will be happy to assist you. Your Sincerely Assistant Practice Manager.
