I arrived for my flu jab yesterday and was greeted warmly by the nurse. No sooner than I had signed in, I was called through. This surgery has the best staff, many thanks.

I visited the surgery on 6 September for an appointment at the Respiratory Clinic. This followed on from a visit on 14 June when a thorough procedure to test my lung function was carried out. I was given a different medication to use at that time. Since then, I have felt that my breathing has improved considerably and I have not felt out of breath when walking, even up hills. I now do not need a Ventolin Inhaler, which I was using quite a lot with my previous medication. I am very grateful for the time taken by the Respiratory Practioner J and for the fantastic service which is provided at The Old Fire Station Practice. I feel very fortunate indeed to be a patient at this practice and have found the doctors to be thorough, kind and caring. The Reception staff are always lovely; so patient and helpful at all times.

Friendly staff, face to face GP appointment booked easily same day. Doctor was excellent, thorough, helpful and caring. Follow up appointment organised for me during the consultation. Would definitely recommend this surgery.

I received an excellent consultation by Dr N, who was a thorough, caring and a knowledgeable doctor. My experience was a positive consultation which was organized in a timely fashion .The doctor was personable , kind and the administration staff efficient and friendly . Dr N explained my suspected diagnosis arranged the appropriate investigations and controlled my pain. His consultation style filled me with confidence as he explained everything clearly in a calm and assured manner. The practice is clearly well run , efficient and welcoming from the hard working receptionists to nursing and medical staff. I highly recommend this practice.

I rang on Friday for an appointment to have a chat about period problems. Receptionist didn’t give me exact time of when the doctor would ring as I had to be at work at 12pm that day and wouldn’t have access to phone. Doctor rang me at 11:30, when I was on the bus and said they’d call me back Monday. When they did call it was a very short and snappy conversation and I wasn’t very happy with the service I received as I didn’t get the help I was hoping for. Not a happy patient

Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to hear you were unhappy with the service you had received. We always attempt to meet the needs of patients and unfortunately on this occasion we were unsuccessful. Providing precise times for call backs is not always possible and we have since changed our appointment system to have timed face to face appointments. We recognise these are likely to be more appropriate for confidential discussions and a number of other health issues. Thank you again for taking the time to provide feedback.
