  1. Review titled Very difficult to get an appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 March 2025

Disappointing. Rarely need to see a dr. Rang dead on 8.30 number 6 in the queue. At 9 o’clock number 1 in the queue. Told no appointments left only 11 for the day?? You could try tomorrow. Or attend a Saturday morning clinic. Or if in pain go to Sevenoaks. How can a drs practice give any sort of support with only 11 appointments for a day. If you are lucky enough to see a dr there are no complaints. I went to maidstone hospital walk in centre where I was seen it was chaotic and it took 7 hours. Practice needs more doctors and more appointments to satisfy the needs of their patients.

  2. Review titled Failed to telephone me, am in great pain.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Geoff Crouch - Posted on 25 February 2025

Monday, 24/02/2025,12.26. I received a text message from "The Care Co-ordinator" who stated that "the GP will be calling you today". No call received by 8pm, some 7 and a half hours later. I was also told that the practice would arrange for my "dedicated Oncology Nurse" to call me. Not heard from her either. I have prostate cancer which causes immense pain in my lower back. I need to speak to a Doctor, but this has proved to be impossible. I am housebound, otherwise I would turn up at the surgery and get help. The surgery is discriminating against me as I cannot get to the building. I have been promised a telephone call at 11.30am today Tuesday 25/02/2025 by the receptionist (8.56am). I deperately need help with the pain. I would add that this is the worst level of treatment (I have had none), from old School Surgery. I tried to email the Practice Manager, but the address is not shown on the Website.

  3. Review titled Call back and general appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Mr s chandler - Posted on 16 December 2024

Rang dead on 8.30am to try and get an appointment. Position 13. Not bad. Hung on for 15 minutes and decided to request call back. Had the position page open as I worked. Got to position 10 after 25 minutes. Went to position 9. Then went to position 10... then 9 then 10. Exited screen and re entered. Position 10. Decided to call and hold. Held for further 15 minutes and line suddenly went dead. Called again position 20. Bearing in mind I'm at work and it took 45 + minutes for position 13 I'm not holding again for a position 20... ridiculous. Not the first time the line has suddenly gone dead as well...

  4. Review titled Leaving the Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I wanted to express our real thankfulness for all the team at Old School Surgery. From the reception staff, nurses, ancillary staff & pharmacy team, to the doctors, each one of you has made a visit so much less stressful. In particular, we’d like to thank Dr H. for his deep kindness and professional care. We have decided that it is probably sensible for us to move up to Goudhurst surgery, where we have lived for the past 11 years! We wish all of you well, especially as you face the challenges of incorporating so many new patients. We hold you all in our prayers. With very warm wishes from myself and my husband.

I have been on hold for 1hr59mins as the call was due hit 2hrs I was cut off. I tried the online triage system which was full. and NHS app which said I need to contact my GP. Unbelievably bad - this is the first time I have had cause to complain.

I visited today and became very emotional in the appointment. This Dr was so lovely, compassionate and caring and made a huge difference to how i am feeling. It was a surprisingly amazing experience and i really appreciated how he took time to help me feel better and understand myself a bit more. Thankyou so much x

  7. Review titled Disappointed

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 July 2024

on 4th July 2024 GP asked for a blood test and the earliest date available was 29th August some 56 days later. I am away for a week on 27th August so was asked to call on 18th July when the September appointments are available. Other local practices can perform a blood test in days. Is this the best they can do.

  8. Review titled No answer

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 June 2024

I've been calling the surgery but it is impossible to get into contact with anyone since they do not answer the phone. I've been put on hold for over an hour and still no answer even though my position in the queue was number one.

  10. Review titled Poor service from start to finish

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ian - Posted on 21 June 2024

You sit in the phone queue listening to mind numbing music for 45 minutes to reach “number 1” and they hang up. Again and again and again. I had to make five attempts to speak to someone! When you finally do get to speak to someone it’s like talking to a traffic warden. If you want an appointment be prepared to wait long enough for the illness to have resolved itself if you are lucky, they don’t care either way. It’s no wonder people go to accident and emergency . If you are lucky enough to be offered an appointment be prepared to take the day off work because you are certainly not going to be seen outside of normal working hours. If you even suggested it they have a take it or leave attitude. Poor service. Even taking into account the problems the NHS is having this surgery is beyond bad. Go and see a pharmacy instead
