I just want to say a huge thank you to the doctors who i saw today in the clinic. They was both really assuring with me when i was feeling anxious about my minor surgery. They made me at ease. Couldn't thank them both enough on how lovely they was.

I have been waiting for minor surgery for 2-3 months and received a link to book an appointment in January. I booked an appointment on the day I received the message. I have been sent a text message today, less than a week before the appointment to tell me it’s been cancelled and to contact the surgery. I did as requested to find out the appointment has been cancelled as the doctor has booked a holiday. I find this incredibly and very inconvenient as I had planned work around the appointment. Also trying to get through to the surgery is already difficult without them creating additional call volumes.

Dear Patient Many thanks for posting this feedback about the surgery. We understand that you have now made a formal complaint about this and we will be investigating this and writing to you with a personal response. The practice offers minor surgery as an enhanced service to improve convenience for patients due to secondary care waiting lists for this being extensively long. Not all surgeries offer this to patients. We currently have over 50 patients on our waiting list and have two GPs who perform minor surgery. Your procedure was cancelled due to the GP needing to take annual leave. We understand that you have now been offered an appointment on 1st March. We are sorry that on this occasion you feel our offer has fallen short of what you'd expect. Appointments are usually around 30 minutes and patients are able to resume normal activities shortly after surgery and usually on the same day. We feel that this is supportive of our working patients as a referral to secondary care for this proves to be less convenient with longer wait times, time off work and travel.
