I have completed the online form on three occasions recently and the triage system has resulted in a timely response with clear instructions. Previously I would have been in a telephone queue for a long time and probably a person to person appointment in a few days time

Usually everything is really good and things are dealt with as quickly as possible so today's experience was unusual. Today I waited 45 minutes to get from third in the queue to being answered by the prescriptions line - staff issue apparently - only to be told that the request would not be dealt with till the following day. Not entirely happy at this waste of my time. It would have been better if there had been a message informing people of the problem at the outset. Then I could have rung again the next day.

Dear Ruth, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear of the long delay waiting to speak to our prescription clerks. Unfortunately during peak periods there can be substantial waits due to demand especially if there are staff absences. There are multiple alternative ways to make prescription enquiries that do not involve calling the surgery which you may find more convenient- there is a web link to these below. Of course these may not suit everyone and we recognise that for some people a phone call is more suitable. You may also wish to speak to your pharmacist who can also offer assistance with queries. Due to the volume of enquiries we receive we request 72 working hours to process prescription requests although in practice these are often signed off a lot quicker than this. Having left an online request for GP help at 8.30 in the morning I was telephoned with an appointment for a couple of hours later, seen and advised by a GP. ECG recorded later the same day and blood tests arranged. I couldn’t ask for more efficient and friendly service from everyone, thank you

had been waiting weeks for an appointment then given a telephone one which resulted in an xray appointment. This was then cancelled due to errors made by doctor on the appointment request. Still waiting for any contact whilst attempting to contact them myself and my symptoms worsen. the nhs is broken and they all want to be paid more, for much much less

Never the same rules twice .Will do anything to push you on to the web and away from any human assistance .One time one rule next time a different one .Could not care how important it is for youor what you need. Shamefull

Firstly I’ll say any communication with GPS or nurses in the surgery have been good. Where the surgery falls down is reception staff. There seems to be a lack of empathy and caring. Generally they are off hand. Today I rang for advice patient access. I’ve had terrible pain. For all other medical input I’ve gone privately but need Gp to prescribe more analgesia.The receptionist looked on the screen and said but you’ve only just had. This is because I’m taking the top end amount. She made no attempt to ask me about pain or how I was, or even suggest any help. I asked about patient access. She said to fill in online (but I couldn’t find) She said she didn’t know how, she didn’t attempt to look it up or help. I thought using this service so I don’t have to phone would be better for reception team. I’ve written a letter and dropped off now - certainly won’t phone again. I just felt her manner was offhand. In general find all the staff like that. I think they should know patients do not want to phone up, it’s generally done to get help. Luckily I went privately for part of my treatment. There is such a difference in the attitudes of staff in the private sector. They trip over theirselves to help you. They smile. They make you feel valid. When you are unwell you just need to know someone cares. I am a nurse and treat my patients how I’d like to be treated. So why can’t they? I really do think they need some training in interpersonal skills. I thought it was very poor today!

The Kemsing surgery where so helpful, kind, caring, professional. I came away feeling someone was listening to me and helping me after seven months of being very unwell and back and forth to the hospital. Highly recommend this great practice. Regards Matt.

We have always found otford gp to be helpful friendly and efficient. Appointments that are genuinely urgent are given. We required some urgent medication emailed from a hospital consultant today and it was available within hours. Very prompt.

Thank you for the fantastic way you dealt with my recent health scare. A quick and caring professional service on the day I called for an appointment after a scare followed by a less than 2 week appointment with the hospital. Top class service with great professionalism.

I feel compelled to leave a glowing review of the excellent service we have received recently for our baby who was poorly with a cough. We were seen within hours of calling to book an appointment, and again a week later received prompt follow up care when her symptoms persisted. The GP was fantastic. Reassuring and clear and careful in their explanation of the diagnosis and proposed course of action. Despite the current overwhelming demand for healthcare and being stretched beyond capacity, the quality of care received was brilliant and their diagnosis and treatment were spot on. We are incredibly grateful to have such wonderful GPs and nurses working at our local practice. Keep up the amazing work you do.
