Review titled Fantastic, caring staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lisa - Posted on 07 August 2024
I went to have a smear , the nurse was fantastic. She was a bit worried about my high blood pressure. She after abit of a tricky smear test she got me a drs appointment for in 20 minutes. Nothing could have be less trouble for her . The Nurse is amazing and then seeing the Dr again nothing was to much trouble. Then on to booking blood test and ECG , receptionist, fantastic again. The whole practice is great .

Review titled Disappointed
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Lynn Lardner - Posted on 11 June 2024
I very rarely have need to use the Doctors however, a couple of weeks ago I was experiencing pain in my shoulder so booked an appointment. The Doctor diagnosed tendonitis and gave me a prescription for some tablets (two lots at nearly £10.00 each) and told me if it was no better to call and book in for an injection. My shoulder is still painful after finishing the course so I rang this morning to make an appointment. This can only be made with the Doctor I saw or one other Doctor due to the nature of the injection. After holding for 45 minutes I was informed that I had to call back tomorrow morning at 8am to get an appointment. I informed her it wasn't urgent if she could just book me in at some point. I am a Solicitor and need advance notice for appointments out of the office as I am tied up with my own clients most of the day. I was informed this couldn't happen and I had to call back tomorrow at 8am. I informed her I do the school run at that time so isnt convenient and was told that I can call and ask for a call back when it comes my turn in the queue. I just can't understand, if there are free appointments tomorrow, why I couldn't just be booked in for an appointment, whether tomorrow or at some point in the future, given it's non-urgent nature. I am extremely disappointed - it's almost as if they don't want patients!

Review titled Booking Appointments
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Just rang to book an appointment that's not an emergency to be told you have to ring at 8am for any appointment and go that day. I don't understand why they can't book doctors appointments for you that aren't same day. What if its impossible to ring at 8am so you miss an appointment that day. I'm not understanding why I can't make a GP appointment for another day?

I was very ill last week over bank holiday and rang practice as soon as open. I was seen within an hour by doctor and had wonderful service. Very caring and put my mind at ease as I was very worried as I live alone and over 80. Now fully recovered thank you so much.

Review titled A waste of an hour
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Lesley sutton - Posted on 22 February 2023
Having had an appointment made by the pharmacist to see the Dr about the arthritis in my hands which are painful and swollen. I arrived on time and waited 25minutes I then saw a junior associate who was very nice after listening to me telling her the problem I have with them and I did mention that the orthopaedic specialist at Preston said that they do things now with hands and fingers. She then went off to get a second opinion 10 minutes later she came back to say that the Dr said nothing could be done with them a Dr who had not even seen me or my hands. She suggested anti inflammatory which I cannot take because of the medication I take, she then suggested I ring the specialist secretary to see if I could get him to do something. No wonder I do not go to my own Dr whoever that is it's never the same one I might as well do everything for my self if she had read my notes she would have known that I am not supposed to take ibuferin and I do not think a Dr should be saying nothing can be done unless he has actually examined you and neither do I think I should have to ring a specialist. Do Drs want to work, I am afraid I just said it was a waste of time my coming and walked out which I know is not the answer but i did not want to say something i would later regret. Please do not ask me to ring the management team as i have now said what I have to say but it was definitely a waste of an hour of my life.
