  1. Review titled Neglectful

Rated 1 star out of 5

I asked for a telephone consult only to be triaged by God knows who and denied. Told to ring for an appointment. Can you get one? No. Ring for 45 minutes over 350 calls to be told none left. Make a prebookable one they say only to be told cant do it that far in advance( 2 weeks away) none left for the doctor you need to see when you ring when they say. Just want a phone consultation. Days/weeks to sort a health issue. Disgusting. If a patient wants a telephone consultation they should have one then the doctor can decide after the call if a face to face is needed. So simple.

They never answer the phone and their way of booking appointments is rubbish, it doesn't work and needs to change. I'm fed up I need an appointment and I can't contact anyone because they won't answer the bloody phone.

Dear Anon, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about the Surgery. I am sorry that you felt the need to address your issues on a forum as opposed to raising them with me directly. You may have heard, as all patients received a text last week, that we are now allowing patients to prebook appointments up to 4 weeks in advance as well as being able to access same day medical services. I do hope that this comes as a welcome improvement for you and that you are now able to book ab appointment to be seen. I must also note that we have very few "dropped" calls, indeed the most recent call data I have shows that in the month of October, we answered 93% of all calls, with a total of 473 unanswered or dropped by the caller which averages 23 calls a day, so I would respectfully disagree with your claim that "no one answers the phone" as the data proves otherwise. Happy to discuss and show the data to you if you would like to contact me at the Surgery to discuss this further. Nicola Raby, Practice Manager nicola.raby@nhs.net

  5. Review titled Booking appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 November 2023

Called in at 8am in person to make an appointment only for another waiting patient to note a poorly displayed sign that only telephone appointments accepted as from 1/10/23 - she was employed and had told her employer she couldn't be in for 8.30 start. Rang 8 times whilst stood by reception area - my call couldn't be taken or line busy...I was told by the receptionist to keep ringing and I'd get through (eventually). The practice has all our addresses, emails, mobile numbers etc so why isn't a change to booking system not advertised prominently: rather than allowing patients to make wasted journeys? Now made approximately 15 calls - still cannot get through - off to Huyton Walk-in.

Dear Anon, Thank you for your feedback. I apologise that we have not communicated the change in access to all patients. We are very conscious of bombarding patients with texts at this time of year given that it is flu/COVID season and so it was decided that as the majority of patients were coming down to surgery to queue, that we would make a notice informing of the change which thus far has worked well. The notice was put out in September to give patients ample notice. We are trying to allow for as much equity as possible by only allowing appointments to be booked at the front desk from 9am onwards. This then means it is fairer for all to be able to access appointments for that initial first hour via the telephones. I am sorry that this did not meet your expectations and hope that you were able to be seen at the Walk In Centre. At time of writing (14.29pm) we have 2 telephone access appointments left so had you persevered, you would have been able to make an appointment for today. Please know we are always trying to improve access for our patients and that every change we implement, ultimately has the patients satisfaction as the overall aim. If you feel there is anything we could do differently please contact me and we can discuss the options available. Thank you again for taking the time to leave feedback, I would like to hope that you can give us the chance to improve your experience and as a result of your feedback I will now send a reminder text to all registered patients who have opted into receiving messages, of our change in appointment policy. 6. Review titled Questionable Competence

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 April 2023

I am a 4th year medical student as a result I understand importance of seeing patience when they need an appointment. I have just been told the first available appointment to see a GP is 4 weeks time from now. I am waiting to have my heart checked. Which is utterly disgusting and completely medically inappropriate, any qualified doctor knows this is not right. Unfortunately if the doctors had done what they should have done correctly the first time I would be further on. This silly patch form nonsense does not help in any way either it just slows everything down and complicates matters. Then they have the cheek to deny you a phone consultation also, in all honesty what are the GPs being paid for doing? They don't see people, wont talk on the phone and deny you anything you request. Welcome to the NHS.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your review. I am confused as we only have appointments available for booking on the day here at Park House Medical Centre. We would never say to a patient to wait 4 weeks. Indeed today we had over 150 appointments available to give out today and the same for each remaining day this week. Our receptionists would have offered you an appointment at our GP extra/extended access clinic if we were full, further confirming my suspicion that perhaps you are referring to a different Park House Surgery in your review? As you have chosen not to leave your name I am unable to help you further or indeed check if you are a patient but if you contact me on nicola.raby@nhs.net I would be happy to assist you.

Impossible to try and get an appointment, waiting hours on hold and when you do eventually get to speak to someone they have an awful attitude and just want you off the phone

Thankyou for your comment Ms Smith. I am sorry to read that you believe the Reception staff to have an awful attitude. I have listened to the phone call you made on Wednesday and found the staff to be responsive, sympathetic and polite. I notice you were given an appointment at 8.15am that morning and treated that same day so I am at a loss as to understand your comment about not being able to get an appointment. The Practice offered 2542 more appointments in 2022 than it did in 2019 so we have actually increased our access for patients compared to pre-covid times, I believe that what has changed are patient expectations of what we can do. Please know that we are working the hardest we ever have. I am sorry that we were unable to meet your needs on this occasion, we are trying our best however and are continually trying to improve our service to keep up with the ever changing expectations and needs of our patient population.

  8. Review titled Something Seriously Going Wrong At This Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

After frequenting this practice over several years I am very worried at the sudden downturn in cleanliness at this place, it feels really grubby which is certainly not what you would expect at a GP practice very worrying

Dear Patient - I say patient as I have searched Alice W and this patient is not registered at Park House Medical Centre in Prescot - I am sorry you feel that there has been a sudden downturn in cleanliness - the domestics are employed by NHS Property Services and I have forwarded your review on to them for comment. From what I can see there has been no disruption to the standard of cleanliness at the practice, I wonder if you would be so kind as to contact me directly to discuss - nicola.raby2@knowsleyccg.nhs.uk Thank you N Raby

  9. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Patient since 1985 - Posted on 25 March 2024

I have been a patient at this practice for a very long time. Over the past few years it has become a joke. Been trying get an appoint with a GP for 4 weeks . Every day phoned at 8 - no appointments ( having phoned 25 times) . No appointments to book on line either. Phoned 111 ( who were extremely helpful) and even they couldn't get in touch with the practice! Finally get a message from the surgery to phone for appointment. Finally .... success or so I thought. Appointment given was then cancelled due to shortage of Drs!!!! Unbelievable. Meanwhile my health has deteriorated. The whole system is a disgrace and. It puts patients under unnecessary stress continually. Action is needed now to improve the system.

  10. Review titled Excellent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Kelly - Posted on 30 November 2022

experience withe the service from this practice. I have also found the reception staff to be courteous, polite and respectful. The medical staff were sways very professional and found time to listen to my concerns. When I was concerned about what I considered to be serious problems I was reassured by telephone which was followed by a consultation.
