Been registered with this practice for 10+ years and it’s been hit and miss over that period. Most recent visit was a miss. I attended with an eye issue, only to be told during the appointment that they can’t do a great deal for eyes at GP surgeries (?) didn’t look at/in my eyes. They weren’t red so ‘likely wasn’t serious’. Ended up making an appointment at local optician for an NHS Eye Health check and referred same day to hospital eye clinic for foreign object removal. Such a convoluted process, this could have been resolved far quicker if I’d been told to skip the GP stage by Patterdale Lodge and go straight to Opticians. Remember to look after your eyes folks, advocate for yourself and look after your vision.

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed that you have rated our service as only two stars. If you would be willing to contact the Surgery, we can address your concerns directly and we would be very interested in investigating and in particular any call you made to the Surgery when booking your "eye appointment". If we have not directed you directly to Optician/Eye Service then that requires addressing with the staff member(s) involved; we do not have the equipment, necessary skills nor training to consult on eye problems; our retired GP Partner Dr Wynne could consult on eyes as he was an Ophthalmologist. I had my medication review with the surgery pharmacist. She was really helpful with advice, and follow up. Her manner was caring, compassionate,thoughtful and reassuring. I was happy with my experience.

During Jan/Feb 23 my experience of seeing a Dr was nothing but exceptional, the time and attention that the Dr gave to me was just what I needed. I didn’t feel rushed, everything I said was noted and prompt decisions made. Given that the NHS are under such strain I couldn’t have asked for a better service. I take my hat off to those that help the likes of me, and do it with total professionalism but with a caring element too - thank you.

I have beena patient for a long time . To be honest the service , over the years has been a bit hit and miss . however the last few months the reception staff , doctors and nurses have been wonderful. Thanks
