Review titled Shocking service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Brian Gardner - Posted on 20 July 2024
I ordered my repeat prescriptions for my heart condition through my chemist on Monday 15th July. The chemist requested the prescriptions the same day. My chemist has just informed me Sat 20th July that Peel gps have not sent the prescription through. This is not good enough when patients are dependent on this medication. Why has this been overlooked?. This isn't the first time this has happened. I am rapidly losing all faith in Peel gps and the service they offer or more to the point what they don't offer.. My chemist has offered to help by giving me a small prescription until Peel gps can be bothered to reply to the request.

Thank you for your comments however we are disappointed in your review. Whilst we recognise errors can be made due to the volume of work we have to process on a daily basis, in this instance we have found no fault by the practice. We have investigated your comments and have established that we only received a pharmacy request on Saturday 20th July at 9.44am, we retain all prescription requests for at least a month for audit purposes. We will be contacting the pharmacy to discuss with them on your behalf and please feel free to contact the surgery if you would like to discuss further.

Review titled 3rd appointment cancellation in a row
by Farkhanda - Posted on 03 May 2024
I had an appointment with my GP who requested bloods to try to ascertain why I was so ill (4 weeks ago). I made the appointment at the desk, on the eve of the appointment, I received a text saying it was cancelled. Made another appointment for a week later. Again the same, on the eve received a text saying it was cancelled, made my third appointment, again received the text saying the appointment was cancelled. I rang reception to ask why the appointment was cancelled 'is the nurse sick or what' was told that it was none of my business and it is cancelled. No empathy or understanding from reception. I am trying to explain to her that it is now the third time this has happened, 4 weeks since the GP requested the bloods. I am getting worse. No response from the receptionist, obviously does not care about the patients, might as well have been talking to a robot. I am still trying to work rather than call in sick, which I tried to explain to her, I have arranged my work schedule 3 times to accommodate the appointment times, again no response. Got offered another appointment a week later during the afternoon, which I cannot attend as I cannot move my work around too much. What is going on with this surgery. Is this where empathy and compassion go to die? I am in urgent need of bloods before I can begin treatment which the GP requested but cannot get an appointment.

Review titled Shamble of a practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Farkhanda - Posted on 20 February 2024
If I could award them 1 stars I would. I need my arthritis medication daily. But once again my surgery refuse to prescribe it as I need a review. Did they inform me that I needed a review before I could get the repeat prescription (no that would mean them being good at their jobs). I tried ringing and ringing them today regarding medication, after trying 227 times, I decided to take time off work and talk them instead. The receptions are so unfriendly, sarcastic and lacking in empathy. If this was private sector, they would have all been sacked.

Dear Patient, sorry to hear you had a negative experience whilst visiting our surgery. Whilst these issues rarely arise we appreciate how frustrating it can be when it happens for you. Our phone lines have been down intermittently since last Thursday and virtually all day yesterday. We have been keeping our patients up to date with the progress of the fault on our social media and website. All our reception staff work very hard under challenging circumstances and do their best for every patient. If you would like to discuss further please contact our Office Manager by email at peel.gps@nhs.net.

Review titled Shocking treatment
Rated 1 star out of 5

The surgery texted my mother who has Alzheimers, on my mobile asking her to make an appointment for repeat blood tests a few days after an annual health check. As next of kin and main carer with power of attorney for health affairs I phoned to enquire what the concern was. An unhelpful and dismissive receptionist refused to give me any information saying my mum hadnt consented. She said this is the law. Awful attitude.

Review titled Horrendous treatment
Rated 1 star out of 5

My husband came for his appointment for 11-20 this morning bookin wasn’t working so we went to the reception to book in, at 11-30 I went to the reception to see if the nurse was running late, only to be told we weren’t booked in, said she would notify the nurse, another patient came in and was to go and she the nurse before us, by this time my husband walked out never to return, if this is the treatment you receive it’s really unacceptable. Very disappointed with the service we received.

Review titled Completely dismissed
Rated 1 star out of 5

I know multiple people who have this practice as their only local GP option, and they have been forced to go there every few months for mental health problems only to be completely ignored, dismissed, and lied to even on simple matters. Anything that would require the practitioners to do any work is swept aside, even if it's just filling out a form.

Phone won’t connect and I’ve tried it on 3 different phones, sent an email as I’m in agony and need an appointment and just received an auto reply saying they will contact me within 48hrs!
