I phoned the surgery at 2pm to request an appointment for my 16 year old son, who was worried about several rashes on his legs and marks on his back. I was surprised but grateful to receive the offer of an appointment that same day at 3.20pm, which I thought was fantastic. Throughout the appointment however, there were multiple comments made about it being an urgent on the day appointment and why had we felt the need to take this, when the rash had been there for some time and was subsequently determined to be eczema ( non urgent). When I also asked for my son’s marks on his back to be checked, I was met with a “huff” and the remark “ is it urgent/an emergency?” . I get it, the NHS is broken and the surgeries have no time for anybody anymore. I do not however, appreciate being spoken to like I am a nuisance, taking up someone’s time unnecessarily. Very poor service from this “caregiver”.

Dear Anonymous, I am very sorry that this has happened during your son's appointment with the surgery. If you would be kind enough to contact the practice manager "Karen Manifold" with the details, she will look to speak to the clinician involved so we can improve our services. It may be that you were given the wrong type of appointment and that your son should have been signposted to a routine appointment with one of our doctors instead of an urgent appointment, however this does not excuse being made to feel like a nuisance or uncomfortable in the the consultation. I have had occasion to have several consultations with a particular GP at the practice over the last few months. This GP has listened to me carefully, respected my thoughts and issues and worked with me to work towards a healthy outcome. Indeed, I find all GPs, nursing, pharmacy and other staff extremely professional, helpful and responsive to any health problems I have had over the last few years.

I would like to extend my thanks to the prompt response I received to my concerns regarding my husband’s health condition it was informative and sympathetic and much appreciated. As long time patients of Pendeen Surgery have always received exellent service thankyou all.

Thank you so much for the exceptional care and help I have received from staff members over the last few months for what has been a very difficult time for me. I particularly appreciate the communication I have received by telephone keeping me well informed of the many issues I have had to deal with. Both my wife and I would like to say a special thanks to all those concerned - you have made an 'old man' very happy. Wishing you all peace and happiness. Stewart.

I had my covid vaccination this morning, everything was very well organised. Without exception, all the staff were helpful and pleasant. They explained clearly all the procedure to me.

As usual I found the reception team extremely understanding and helpful. I was able to get timely appointments to discuss my health concerns. The doctor who phoned me today was very thorough recommending courses of action. I didn’t feel rushed during the consultation and I feel I’ve been genuinely listened to. I’m so glad I’m with this practice.

I raised a concern regarding my health which was dealt with very quickly and efficiently. I felt that the response was highly professional and this was extremely reassuring to me. I have an absolutely no complaints about this surgery.

After I ran into difficulties with a very long waiting list at Hereford County Hospital, my doctor quickly sorted out a referral to an alternative hospital. I have always found the nurses and reception staff to be very good 🙂
