Review titled I feel totally let down
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jayne Hogan-Birse - Posted on 24 May 2024
I registered with the practice in October 2023, but they only requested my records from my previous GP at the end of April 2024. I am compromised in respect of my health and this is appalling. I have found their systems to book an appointment complicated and vague. There is very little patient centred care from frontline staff and everything is too much trouble. When I attended the GP with issues related to breathing and adominal issues I wasn’t even examined. I was a patient of this surgery for the first 37 years of my life and it was amazing. I moved away for 20 years returning in late September 2023 and am appalled that the service has deteriorated so much. In fact there is little service.

I usually praise this surgery but was extremely disappointed with the attitude and manner of the receptionist. Was extremely unprofessional, abrupt and rude.

Always have been able to access a face to face appointment when needed. Treatment by all staff is beyond compare. We are more than satisfied with the care given.

Review titled Going Downhill.
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Impossible to speak directly to a Doctor without prior appointment. I tried to buy a medication over the counter from the Pharmacy. Was told it was only available on Prescription. Phoned the Practice to ask the Doctor for it and was informed by the Receptionist that I must phone at 8 o clock tomorrow morning. What a ridiculous situation. !!!. I could have gone and collected the Prescription within 10 minutes and taken it to the Pharmacy. I feel sorry for the Receptionist who has to give out these instructions but was very polite and apologised. I appreciate this is not a major medical matter. I assume it is the Practice Manager who puts these systems in place and wonder if he or she ever thinks about the problems patients have in getting a decent service for minor ailments that require the Doctors advice.

Review titled Booking system again
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 December 2023
Another run around from the booking system. Receptionist eventually agreed to take info over phone after I'd spoken to 111. Was told unlikely to be tomorrow which was OK as I was in work. Get call at 11 appt at 3. I'm in work I say and I did say Thurs was better. I'll have to mark you as refused I was told.

Review titled No sense of Urgency from anyone
Rated 1 star out of 5
by julian s mills - Posted on 23 October 2023
Ordered a prescription on Tue 17th October through chemist. Chased on Friday 20th as needed inhalers. Informed that no prescription had been placed. Asked for an emergency prescription as out of one of the inhalers. On Monday23rd phoned to ask if the prescription had been sent, to be told that they would chase it when the doctor arrives!!! What part of 'I have run out ' of a perscrition isn't important to you?

Review titled Booking system needs serious rethink
Rated 1 star out of 5

Online form opens at 8am - generally shut by 8.15am. If you have to go to work, it's impossible. Told by 111 yesterday to call GP immediately. Rang GP to be told, try again tomorrow. If you get an appointment, the service is brilliant. No wonder A&E is busy as people can't see their GP's.
