All our repeat prescriptions are ordered on line and directed to our regular pharmacy. I had cause to contact the pharmacy having waited 3 days without response who informed they had not received our prescriptions. Spoke to doctors reception who initially could not give an explanation, after a long wait I was informed " they could not get a connection". what ever that means. (If I had not contacted the pharmacy I would never have received the prescription). Why did the surgery not contact me and tell me this. I was advised that I had to call at the surgery and collect the prescriptions, When I arrived a couple of hours later there were still no prescriptions and the lady now on reception was not aware of any problems, she then created the prescriptions but I was unable to collect them because there was no one in the practice to authorise them, I had to call back a couple of hours later and then take them to the pharmacy. When I discussed this with the pharmacist he was puzzled has he was receiving every body else's without a problem. This is not the first time recently that I have had issues with reception at the practice ( sounds like the same persons voice on the phone, not helpful). I have been with what is effectively the same practice since birth but in recent time there has been a noticeable reduction in the standard of the administrative side of the practice.
