If I could give zero stars I would, absolutely awful service, rang reception 4 times today, first call I was in the queue for 10 minutes and got cut off, second call I was in the queue for 16 minutes and got cut off, third attempt I was in the queue at number 1 in the queue and got cut off after 45 minutes, fourth attempt I was pushed back to 2nd in the queue and gave up after 6 minutes. Useless, incompetent staff, they have told me they have sent an Urgent referral to Derriford for my son to have a CT scan and EEG after he has had multiple seizures, this was last Friday, it’s now Tuesday evening and after chasing up the CT scan department at the hospital as we have still not heard anything, they told me that they have no referral and to contact my son’s GP, hence the 1 hour 17 minutes in the phone queue today. This is absolutely unacceptable and the worst part is that I have to try again to get a hold of them. The NHS is a shambles and this surgery is shocking.

I waited 50 minutes for my appointment, went up to reception 3 times, no apology, nothing. I was even asked to come back tomorrow. When I was seen the GP even said tomorrow would be better, I was shocked. I felt rushed and not heard. The practice did not offer any apology, if the patient turned up nearly an hour late they would say ‘ you’ve missed your appointment we cannot see you now ‘ I am very disappointed with the practice.

Having taken a BP check on the 18th May, the readings were not logical so I called the Mudgeway Practice near to closing time. The receptionist was very helpful and arranged a call back from the duty doctor who responded within the hour and arranged an appointment for an ECG the following day. The outcome of the ECG was apparently abnormal so the duty doctor decided on a change of medication and issued a prescription to the pharmacy on Saturday the 20th May. I considered the service as excellent as all medics and staff were most helpful and caring.
