  1. Review titled Wait ages for an answer then no appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 November 2022

Wait for nearly an hour for someone to answer and then told there were no pre bookable apts anyway (and never are) and no available today appointments and to ring back again tomorrow. This happened several days in a row, ringing on the dot of when they open (and then waiting 50-60 mins for an answer). If the GP tells you to book an appointment to see them how can you actually do this!! I have only once managed to get an actual appointment (and the GP themself made this on their system for me). We have had to resort to going to the walk in clinic who are entirely unsurprised that we are registered with this practice. What is the point in sending a survey saying do we want evening and weekend apts when none are bookable anyway?!

  2. Review titled Incompetence

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    by DR B A HUTCHINSON - Posted on 03 November 2022

I have a regular prescription which I order online. Last week I had a telephone review of my prescription, with the conclusion that the medication prescribed was appropriate and should continue. Today I tried to reorder a repeat prescription online to be informed that there could be no further repeat prescriptions until I had a prescription review! So tomorrow I will have to waste at least 1/2 an hour of my time trying to make telephone contact to rectify this mistake. If a review has been completed successfully why is the computer system not updated immediately?

Dear Dr Hutchinson I am sorry to hear you have had a negative experience at Ponteland Medical Group. We understand your frustrations and appreciate your feedback. Our annual reviews consist of a medication review and annual bloods depending on the patient condition/diagnosis. We send annual invite letters around a patients birthday month. Once this has been completed, we are then able to re-authorise medication. If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you. Nicola Rice, Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Great para medic appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 August 2022

Had an appointment at surgyand assumed it would be with a doctor but who turned out to be para medic who was excellent Very approachable thorough and arranged immediate hospital appointment I would ask to see a pats medic in preference to a GP in future. Could para medic replace doctors for first call visits Don’t know how long it takes to train a para medic versus GP but imagine it will be quicker and could solve the GP shortage Very happy with the result
