Disgraceful service. Wasn't told it was a fasting blood test. So i wasted £10 on a taxi to get to the surgery only to be told i couldn't have the blood test as I'd had 1/2 cup of coffee. They didn't care and acted like it was my fault.

I attended the surgery for a routine appointment with the practice nurse to have my stitches removed. The procedure was quick and painless. Whilst I was there I was also offered a flu jab which meant that I didn’t have to return to have the injection. This was also quick and painless. Lovely nurse very friendly and put me at ease.

  3. Review titled Will not give me an appointment

Will not give me an appointment. Puts on restricted medication without them seeing me, and am in crisis. They do not care. They actively employ gatekeepers to stop you from attaining an appointment. The worst surgery in Portsmouth and surprise surprise they are a group. Well, your group is terrible, and honestly you should be ashamed of yourselves.

We are sorry that you have been unable to gain access when needed. We would advise that currently all areas of the health service have capacity issues and demand is often more than we can safely provide.

Having been told by email that my Potassium level was high and that they needed to see me about it I was a bit disappointed to find that my visit was for a another blood test. whilst this may a prudent move It was not what I expected. The blood test itself was carried with professionalism and care. Exactly what I expected from the Nursing staff.

  8. Review titled Smear test

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Karen L - Posted on 26 October 2023

Was due for a smear test a year earlier than planned to monitor the behaviour of my body following the results from having a Colposcopy done at QA Hospital's gynaecological department. The very pleasant nurse said that the details of why I was having the smear test done early were not made clear to her, because of the vague details given to her by the computer system. So after i advised her why i was there a year early she said she would write this info on the forms she is sending off

  10. Review titled Good actual Appointment but booking confusing

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 October 2023

The appointment itself was great. It was on time and the nurse was very kind and considerate to my 4 year old. Our appointments were together at the surgery. However, booking the appointment was confusing as given the text of the booking which was "Click here to book your flu and/or covid" I was anticipating that I would get my covid at the same time as I qualify. I was told at the appointment that instead these were being done separately. When I queried this at the reception desk I was told that all covid appointments were being done at Kingston Crescent which is quite a bit out of my way and not my local surgery. I would also have to book a second appointment. All vaccinations and appointments should take place at the local surgery unless an emergency. It is not fair to ask patients to travel quite far out in order to see their local doctor. It would also be useful for clearer communications on the vaccination times. Despite the fact I am on the vulnerable list, I will not be travelling to get my covid jab.

Thank you for your feedback. COVID vaccinations on the whole are only authorised to be carried out at our Kingston surgery. In some instances we are given permission to provide them at alternative sites. It is of course your choice whether you decide to travel to receive these vaccinations. We will ensure that we improve the message when inviting patients to book.
