  1. Review titled Unable to get appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 November 2024

For a week I have been unable to get an appointment at this surgery. Each day has gone like. Ring at 8:30 to be put in a queue which never seems to go down. 5 minutes later I am told there are no more appointments and to use NHS111. NHS111 tells me to make an appointment with my GP. Ring in the afternoon to be put in a queue which leaves me at number 1 for 40+ minutes. I have to then give up because I have to go back to work. I then get a message to say they will from 2 December be offering fewer appointments. In order to get to see a gp and for continuity of care - e.g. getting a followup appointment without having to go through this rigmarole, I have booked to see a private gp which I can ill afford but mus be cheaper than spending three hours a week on the phone to try to see my own gp

  2. Review titled Extremely poor provision

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Goodman - Posted on 26 September 2024

Called today to make an appointment with my dr . The appoint is in 5 weeks time 0ctober 30th All telephone in the morning . Telephone in am one cannot get through and if successful there are never any available appointments. One can queue up at 8am doors open at 8.30 rather like the 1990! My sense is this is poor management It’s hard to understand why it is so long a wait given the number of GP in this practice and how empty the waiting area appears to be ? Very sad and disappointing .

I was able to thank staff in person at reception when I came in with my husband. Excellent practice. Doctor/nurses telephone team and reception all kind patient and we have nothing but praise. We are lucky to belong to this practice.

  4. Review titled Impossible to see anyone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 February 2024

This surgery makes it absurdly difficult to make an appointment. They have an online portal where you go through several steps to book an appointment, but an hour after I did that this morning, I had a text message saying I had to ring the surgery instead. The text had no phone number and their website has no phone number. I eventually got the number from a friend and had to wait over 20 minutes to speak to reception. You can only ring within very limited windows, which are very difficult during a work day. In the past I have had so much difficulty getting through that my only option was to go to a pharmacy where they had a different number they could ring that had priority. It should not be so difficult to book routine medical care.

  5. Review titled Abrupt gp

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by DAVID DSOUZA - Posted on 19 February 2024

I saw the gp who was not very happy with my questions trying to understand what exactly was the problem with my eyelid. I had already seen a gp last week who misdiagnosed and prescribed antibiotics. I still don't have a diagnosis but this time I was prescribed hydrocortisone . When I said I wanted to also discuss my snoring she abruptly said no , only 1 thing per appt. I appreciate that buy it was a very rude way of saying it and then she said I will give you some reading on it and spent the next 2 mins searching for it unsuccessfully.. What is happening to this practice! There is no empathy at all.

  6. Review titled Gold standard care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michelle - Posted on 20 February 2024

I used the e-consult option and was impressed when the doctor called me back that afternoon. I felt the doctor really listened- he took time to assess and choose the best care option. I have always felt very well cared for by the doctors and nurses at this surgery. Would be good to have more online options- booking and cancelling apts online - as can be difficult to get through on phones. Thank you.

  7. Review titled Needs to improve

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 February 2023

While the doctors and the reception staff are good at their jobs communicating with the surgery and getting appointments is rubbish. You cannot book online for a future date, you need to stay on the phone for 20 minutes just to be told there are no appointments and you should ring again tomorrow. They aren't very good at dealing with mental health issues such as anxiety and the online/phone interface with them being so poor just makes this worse.

Dear Patient I hope this message finds you well. We appreciate your engagement with our online appointment booking system and value your commitment to your healthcare. I am writing to provide some clarity regarding changes to our appointment scheduling process. In order to ensure that our patients receive the most appropriate and timely care has resulted in certain appointments being managed through our healthcare team to ensure a more personalized and efficient experience for everyone. The decision to transition away from direct online booking for certain cases was made with the intent of prioritising patient needs and optimising the allocation of our resources. This approach allows our clinicians to assess each patient's situation individually and schedule appointments based on urgency and complexity. While this adjustment may limit the convenience of direct online booking for certain cases, it is a strategic measure aimed at improving overall patient care. We understand that this change may raise questions or concerns, and we are here to assist you through the process. If you have specific medical needs or inquiries, please don't hesitate to contact us directly on 01273 559601 We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide the highest standard of care for all our patients. Thank you for entrusting us with your health, and we look forward to continuing to serve you. Kind Regards Janak Chauhan Practice Manager
