Review titled Sit and wait
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Norman - Posted on 16 December 2024
Lucky enough to get a appointment this morning, but quickly spoke to receptionist about how sit and wait works, as a suggestion couldn’t you implement a number card system so everyone takes a card when they require sit and wait and know where they are in the queue instead of a ‘ free for all ‘ at 9.30.

Thank you for you suggestion, our PPG and us have looked in to this and sadly this does not resolve the situation. The clinic does not open til 9:30 people are not checked in until then. Many thanks

Review titled Blood Test
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Ali - Posted on 25 September 2024
There is a walk-in blood test service offered at the clinic, but there is a need for more capacity or extand staff work hours, particularly for diabetics, who must control their blood regularly on a regular basis. Walk-in service is available from 9 to 11. When I get free from my work, I get ready to get my blood test done. Arrived 10:15, waited for the technician for 15 minutes, and then was told that walk-ins were fully booked! I think '' need to serve the last patient untill 11'' so I hope the management team can resolve this issue/problem.

Thank you for your feedback. As of October 1st, 2024, we have increased staffing capacity at the blood clinic. Based on patient input, we notified our patients via SMS last week, and I hope you received that message.

Review titled Awful practice

by Corina Iacob - Posted on 27 August 2024
Been on the phone 30 minutes (in pain) to book an appointment with a doctor only to be told to call at 1pm as all doctors are working from home. What a joke, wish I knew while I was waiting, wouldn’t have wasted my time’s. Very disappointing.

Review titled Dehumanising experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 July 2024
I honestly feel it can not be easy to be a GP associate at Priory Gardens. My experience has felt like speaking a foreign language - just not being understood as a human being who is feeling vulnerable and seeking support from their registered health care provider. Somewhere in the script provided to the staff and the time allocated to speak to each caller (not patients or clients or people entitled to access a service), because its very business like - compassion and care was omitted. If the GP business managers response to my review is along the lines of 'when you called the service, we did this and this right, while you were wrong...', that's the sense I get from the response to previous reviews, please don't bother. This is mainly to reassure other callers that you are not alone. The practice needs to change its approach and respond with considered ways about how the patient experience can be improved. Overall Its abysmal. There have been one or two glimmers in my recent contact with the surgery on 10th and 11th July. I will be attending a sit and wait clinic tomorrow to pursue the saga of trying to speak to a GP who hopefully has actually taken the care and time to review my notes to provide informed advice for my ongoing care.

I visited the surgery and saw a Dr in the sit and wait clinic on the 2nd July, he took his time, I never felt rushed. I discussed my issues and he understood. He was everso helpful and I'm so very grateful. Thank you

Review titled Rude staff and dishonest people
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Mark Crawford - Posted on 20 June 2024
I called up the surgery yesterday to query my anxiety and anti pyschotic medication as it I requested it on Monday. The women on th phone was very rude and dismissive over the phone. I told her I need a medication review to ensure my medication is correctly prescribed an issues on time. She "I cannot have a g.p appointment for meds review as it will be rejected. I ask her why the medication hasn't bee prescribed an she said she has no idea which was why I asked for GP appointment but she refused my request saying call back 2moz. I later noticed that these medications quetiapine an setraline were discontinued over a week ago, so she was lying all along. She kept saying "oh ot happens to everyone" These type of people make me sick. Lucky I contacted the mental health crisis team this morning to get a referral and they said they will sort out my medication an sent it to the g.p. I am concerned that this staff member was so rude an dismissive yesterday over the phone regrding patients mental health.

Thank you for your feedback. After reviewing the call, it appears our staff member correctly informed you about the standard process for obtaining your medication, which takes three working days. I understand you might wish to receive it sooner, but this process has been consistent for several years. I also noted that you called again this morning and interacted with our staff in a way that was not courteous. Please remember that our team is dedicated to assisting all patients, including you, to the best of our abilities. We kindly ask that you treat them with the same respect they extend to you.

Review titled Lost Perscription
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 February 2024
On Thursday 8th February my wife attended the surgery and saw a nurse, the nurse confirmed my wife was very ill with a high temperature and needed antibiotics. The nurse completed the prescription while my wife was in the room and was told it could be collected later that day at the chemist. We called the chemist all day until it closed but no prescription arrived, meaning my wife lost valuable time in taking the antibiotics. We called the surgery again on Friday morning to be told that no persrciption had been raised, how can this be ?. My wife was told she would need to wait to speak to a clinician later which means she will be more that 24 hours without the antibiotics. At the time of writing we are still waiting for some kind of response. I find your service totally inadequate, poor communication, poor management, failing to care.

Review titled Lack of Care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ezra Blake - Posted on 28 April 2024
I am new to the surgery, I have diabetes, heart failure and other comorbidities. Given that I have heart failure and am seen regularly by a heart hospital, I thought I would have had an appointment as a new patient to discuss my health. I have found it impossible to make an appointment for the annual health check - with a Diabetic Nurse. On my first visit to the surgery, I waited so long to see a doctor that I was in pain when I left. I get that you have lots of patients, but I am dismayed at the total lack of care overall and nonchalant attitude of the reception staff. I need a GP service that cares and would definitely not recommend this one. My wife has long-term health condition and not once has GP called to review meds or discuss progress. Our previous surgery was bad but at least the nurse was aware of our conditions and we had online appointments. I have had a bad chect for two months, the anti-biotics have not worked and given that I have heart failure, I tried to get an appointment. Nothing. I must come to the surgery and sit and wait for hours. I feel like just a number in the scheme of things. So depressing.

Thank you for your feedback. I have asked your GP assistant to get in touch with you to schedule all necessary appointments. It appears you have been able to secure appointments previously when you contacted us. I also noticed you called last week to book an appointment but declined it due to an upcoming holiday. We suggested visiting our sit-and-wait clinic for sooner service, which you agreed to. We strive to offer various ways to book appointments based on patient feedback to accommodate as many patients as possible.
