Review titled Very helpful
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Louise Britton - Posted on 19 May 2023
The reception staff helped to get me an urgent appointment. I have significant health issues and without the quick response of the staff on the reception I would not have been able to see a DR this week. As a result of the staff being helpful and understanding I have been referred to the hospital for treatment. The staff on the reception desk were friendly, understanding, helpful and listened to me. They were here to help when I needed it. Thank you priory gardens reception team.

Review titled Good to start with but deteriorated.
Rated 2 stars out of 5

One doctor here is Amazing. Unfortunately you have to go through the admin staff. I have had a UTI for 4 weeks. 2 lots of antibiotics , multiple samples taken, no results to show which is the correct antibiotic. Finally did an e consult hoping to get advice from a doctor only to get a reply from the admin staff telling me to finish my antibiotics and then make an appointment. I finished the antibiotics last week and have blood in my urine. If they looked at my records they would see that. The guidelines outline that the specimen should be refrigerated and sent to the lab within 2 hrs. I asked the receptionist if they put it in the fridge and she said no. I am scrupulous about collecting the specimen. So another sample on the way. I have no words!

Review titled Never getting an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 May 2023
I have been with this surgery for many years and I cannot ever get an appointment nor have been ever seen by a doctor when I managed to get one for my child. I have been trying to get an appointment for myself after a couple of days of excruciating migraines and a blood vessel popping in my eye and after the second phone call I have been told I am not an emergency even though they didn’t even ask what my problem is and why am I calling. All they do nowadays is redirecting you to 111. Very disappointed

Review titled Call back doesn’t work
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Loraine Burgess - Posted on 15 May 2023
I called Priory Gsrdens at 8.28 this morning and took the option of callback. Now 20:19 and no call received. I have COPD and a nasty chest infection plus a fever. I have been in tears over the lack of service when I simply need a prescription for antibiotics. I’m sure they don’t want me turning up at their surgery early tomorrow with an infection but I feel I have no choice! The stress is overwhelming and I already felt sick

Review titled This Surgery needs to improve or be closed down.
Rated 1 star out of 5

This surgery has to be the busiest surgery in the history of surgeries. They are so busy they get nothing done. You never get an appointment, a call back, or telephone appointments when you need them. You can't even use the so called walk in clinics. Once in a while, they reach out to you and pretend they are interested in seeing you and talking through an issue or ailment and then boom; you come in as arranged and there's no space for you, or the slot has been cancelled or you didn't read the directions properly. There's always something you didn't do right...and the punishment is always the same. You cant see the GP. They have constantly complained about being shortstaffed, having phone issues, needing new practice nurses, sick GP issues, COViD issues...always a story/excuse for why their performance is bottom barrel level. At this point, this is just a terrible surgery whose main business has to be something other than treating people. And I sincerely hope the NHS is not paying them fees on my behalf because they should not. And if there ever was a competition about the worst possible medical receptionists in the history of medical receptionists, I would enter those in the priory gardens in a heartbeat. They are not working to make GP surgeries more efficient...these ones are just determined that no one comes in to see the GPs...period. I find that sickening how they literally play God over peoples lives just to make themselves feel important. And they are constantly in a foul temper. All day every day. Right now there are huge challenges facing the health sector...but even within that context Priory Gardens Surgery still stands out as one of the most inefficient and most inhumane establishments I have encountered in a while. And that is saying something.

Review titled Refusal to follow NHS guidelines
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Hannah Roberts - Posted on 13 April 2023
Called on several occasions trying to get help with my asthma, following my action plan I needed an urgent appointment. Reception staff were very rude, refused to listen or help (expect me to wait call back at 8am the next day, or wait until the following week to see if there was an appointment for the asthma clinic). Asked for the practice manager to call, who did but paramedics were with me. Asked for several calls back from her, which have not happened! Had to call out paramedics as asthma attack deteriorated, needing nebulisers and steroids to get back under some control. (This could have been prevented if an appointment had been given). Called the next day to book a follow-up appointment, which NHS guidelines state needs to be within 48 hours, told the only appointment was in 8 days.

Review titled very bad practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

I had a high temperature, cold, chest infection, throat infection, and my eye was burning (infection). I visited GP first week as I was not able to eat or drink at all due to tonsillitis and fever. I did not give any antibiotics only advised to buy over the counter eye drops and spray, I was coughing every minute and cough turned in to greenish color. also GP advised to rest for 10 to 12 days which I definitely needed. next week was very little improvement in my condition I asked GP for sick note because I was still not well and even able to walk started feeling dizzy due to I was not able to eat or drink since one week and I lost 3 kg weight in one week. GP was taking too long to give me a sick note and I asked for another appointment. they did not give me an appointment and every time when I call for the sick note, different people answered in a different way one says it takes a couple of hours to get it another staff said it takes 2 days to get and another staff says it will take 5 working days to get it and when I request 3 days early one staff said its too early to get it you have to request before 1 day. They have made me so muddled about my sick note. No proper answer to it and you can understand when someone is really not well and have to call 5 times a day to GP for asking sick note. this GP and Staff did not really helpful while I was not well and due to all this, they gave me mental stress. not recommended this GP anymore.

Review titled Busiest GPs I know!!!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 February 2023
I have a two month old son almost three months and every single time I ring up for an appointment the nurses are not available that's if I can get through at all. When I do get through I find myself being patronised and made to feel like my worries don't matter and as a first time mum this triggers a lot of anxiety. I rang to book his second set of immunisations which I was told I had to do at his 8 week ones, only to find the surgery have gotten rid of there wait in the queue and call back system. What person is able to wait over an hour on hold??? People have things to do and the system should have never been gotten rid of, it's ridiculous I don't know any doctor's surgery that doesn't have this system
