  1. Review titled Worst GP Practice in the area

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 July 2024

You can never get through on the phone lines on the only 2 days it's a telephone service. The walk in 8s ok apart from the fact you have to get there about 30 - 45 minutes before it opens as they don't always have many doctors I'm. The receptionists, 3 are fantastic but the others, have terrible attitudes towards patients. I'd rang to ask if a referral could be changed to reflect the correct information for my 12 year old daughter was referred for an xray and he put the wrong side in it. I explained to the receptionist it needed changing and if she could please ask him to correct it and send them referral again to which I hot told that what did I expect her to do, go round his house and ask him as he's working from home??? I said I didn't know he was working from home, I don't work there and if she could please contact him as it was actually his mistake. She said it with attitude and I was shocked to get spoken to like that as I'd been nice and polite when I rang. The management there do not listen and they certainly don't seem to care what patients feel about the terrible service they receive. Suffice to say, we have now changed to another doctors surgery and had no problems getting appointments or advice. So many people have left this GP Surgery due to lack of respect and awful service.

We understand that the attitude and behaviour of our staff can greatly impact patients' experiences, and we will make every effort to ensure that all staff members are trained to treat each patient with the utmost respect and professionalism. Please know that your concerns have been addressed with the appropriate staff members, and we will take the necessary steps to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. As the Practice Manager I very much care about the service we provide and about Primary Care as a whole. However due to government funding restraints and the inability to use any of the additional NHS England funding to employ GPs , sadly demand hugely outweighs capacity, one of the many reasons' GP practices experience the 7:30- 8am queues, as mentioned in your review. That is why we are urging all our patients to review campaigns by the British Medical Association and the Rebuild General Practice campaign. Once again I'm sorry you felt let down by the service, if you wish to discuss this or any other concern you may have you can contact me via the main telephone line or via our email- Priorymedicalcentre@nhs.net

They act entitled and are rude to sick patients, raised voice and do not attend to calls, such disgusting behaviour as healthcare staff. Please improve.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We apologise for any inconvenience or discomfort caused by staff attitude during your recent visit. We take all feedback seriously and strive to provide the best care and service to all patients. We also ask our patients to take into consideration the abuse our reception staff tolerate on a daily basis due to the fact demand for appointments outweighs our capacity to give them. we urge our patients to explore the current challenges faced by general practice via www.rebuildgp.co.uk

  3. Review titled Poor standards

Rated 1 star out of 5

Just phoned my doctors which took them 11 minutes to pick up. I explained I was recently in hospital who stated my current medication is making me poorly. I requested to speak to a doctor but was told not possible. I requested a doctor phone me and was told I could get a phone call 7 days later for literally a 1 minute phone call. A total lack of professionalism and care shown. I wasn't offered any other options only waiting 7 days for a phone call meaning my health continues to deteriorate due to wrong medication. Staff poorly trained, not enough doctors, poor standards and a sense of they don't care.

  4. Review titled Impossible to see a GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

I called yesterday to make an appointment for my Son, was told 'theres no appointments' but they do a walk in 8am Tuesday and Thursday so best thing was to bring him there. We arrived at 8.05, massive queue outside, 3 doctors on duty each with 12 Patients plus anyone lucky enough to have an appointment...an hour and a half waiting by the door as nowhere to sit and there were still 9/10 people ahead of my son. Last time I needed an appointment for my 6 year old Daughter there were no GP's so we had to see a Paramedic (who then had to seek advice from a GP with regards to my Daughters disgnosis). It really is a joke, if you need to see a GP, Priory Medical Centre is not the place to go. Such a shame as used to be a fantastic surgery.

  6. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would like to say after reading some of the comments about this practice I disagree. I think the sit and wait clinic is a great way to access a face to face GP appointment and the fact you can book a routine appointment with a choice of GP and with a choice of either phone or attending the surgery is a major plus considering the way other GPs are running their systems. I think its about time we started supporting our GP surgeries and questioning the powers that be rather than placing blame on the services and their hard working staff

  7. Review titled Appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have called to see a doctor, was told only have a walk in system 2 days per week, or a phone call the rest of the week. Absolutely disgusting, receptionist had a bad attitude when I said it was not an emergency she said "this is how we do it love"!!!!!!! Their staff need training in customer relations!
