Review titled Needs Urgent Improvement
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 December 2024
I've been with this practice all my life and, for the last 10 years of it, have had comically bad experiences and have mostly been using private practices where I can afford it instead, or walk in clinics otherwise. My family members who are registered there are unfortunately in the same boat. I've put up with a lot of mistakes from them - examples include dismissing a serious illness as nothing when I went to them very sick, so I fell unconscious and ended up in hospital for a few days; dismissing an optician eye referral because they couldn't work out how to operate the medical tool and spent the appointment accusing me of being anorexic instead, (firstly, I eat very well and found this an upsetting accusation, secondly, this was wholly out of the blue and they kept pushing it and asking for a food diary, thirdly, my eye never got inspected which was the only reason I was there). I have many examples. I don't believe I've ever been taken seriously at this practice in the last 10 years. Additionally, it's hard to get seen in the first place. This month I booked an appointment and had to wait a few weeks for it. I was told I would be called between the hours of X and Y. A while after that slot I phoned to ask what was going on and was told the doctor is phoning me right now so hang up and he will phone. Nothing. I phoned back later and they said the same thing. Another hour on top of that (waiting 3.5 hours at this point) I phone again and am told that I missed my slot because the doctor apparently tried phoning in the 2 minutes I was on the phone to the practice asking about the doctor phoning. I received a message that I'm unable to respond to, saying that I will have to book another appointment. I phoned and they've given me an appointment 2 weeks away. What a joke! I think this is the final straw - I will be registering at my husband's practice in Eastcote which has always had excellent service. To be quite honest, I should have done so years ago. It's just a shame as I grew up with this surgery and they used to be so good, and they now aren't even just bad, they are awful - I hope they can get back to being good again in the future. GP surgeries like this are the reason our A&Es are overflowing.

Review titled Great GP Practise
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Shirley G Faichney - Posted on 12 April 2024
Very professional service, GP listened and took on board all I had to say. Was honest about her initial thoughts but came up with an approach I was happy to try. The resulting change in medication has made an enormous impact and improved my health hugely. I can't thank the doctor enough and would urge everyone to stop putting off contacting your GP if something is worrying you. I have been with this practise for nearly 7 years now and cannot fault them.

Review titled Outstanding GP practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Elaine - Posted on 01 August 2023
I have been with this surgery for 25 years and can say for its entirety it’s been second to none. That’s from the GPS, Nurses and Administration and support staff. Through COVID while the service was limited it was balanced and proportionate and you could still speak to and if necessary see the GP. They have kept the best practices of this by still providing telephone screening, follows up with an immediate appointment if it’s required. This feels an effective use of their time and mine as on occasions a telephone conversation is enough. In a time where there are so many moans and groans about GPS I wanted to write as I have just booked an appointment with the receptions staff. The conversation wasn’t just practical it was pleasant, light hearted and effective. Thank you all for all you do and continue to do! Elaine

Review titled Disappointing Experience
Rated 1 star out of 5

I am very disappointed with the experience I received yesterday. I called up first thing in the morning because my son who is less than 2 years old had an eye infection. I was told I would be called back by a doctor at some point in the morning. Unfortunately as i was attending to my son I missed the call by 30 secs , I called back straight away and was told the doctor only calls once and would need to call back to book another telephone appointment. This shows no compassion and the fact they cannot call back for a 1 year old child in need is awful. If i was able to get a face-face consult i would be on time for my appointment but this is not even an option anymore even when its a child. It can be extremely difficult to be available to pick up the phone when you have an ill child and especially when no specific time is given just a 4 hour window. The practice has become inflexible and seems to show no care for its patients when in need even children.
