Review titled Excellent Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by J&D - Posted on 21 February 2025
We have been with Clacton Ranworth Surgery for over 33 years. During that time my husband and I have received exceptional care from all the practice doctors (past and present), as well as the nursing staff and receptionists. We are in the process of changing to a different area, but staying with the Ranworth group. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Clacton for their excellent care.

by Gail Jamnitzky - Posted on 01 September 2024
My daughter needed an emergency prescription as she was leaving the country the next day. Ranworth responded quickly within an hour of my request. My faigjter spoke to a doctor and was prescribed the medication she needed. She had tried many time to contact family planning by phone as instructed.. however no one picked up. Thank you Ranworth for your efficient service

Since joining Ranworth I have not had a bad experience. Staff do all they can to get you booked in as soon as possible. I called this morning and was given an appointment straight away. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Excellent appointment as usual. Caring and informative session with treatment provided. My doctor knew my record and explained very clearly the details of the problem. Nothing was hurried and my nervousness was greatly reduced.

Received an appointment after experiencing blood pressure symptoms, unable to explain symptoms due to time limit, prescribed vertigo medication without blood pressure being taken. Appointment lasted approximately 5 minutes.

Dear Mrs Redmond. Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you have felt the need to complain. I have listened to the telephone call between yourself and the receptionist and do not feel she was abrupt. You told her you had been waiting for almost an hour on hold but the call records show you dialled at went into the queue at 9:32am and got through at 9:52 am. Unfortunately, we do not have an unlimited amount of appointments and recognising this we did communicate to all patients in November last year. I can see from your records that you received the text message informing you that once all available appointments have gone, triage will close and this was the case last Friday. However, given the symptoms you described, the GP Surgery was not the correct place for you and the receptionist should have informed you of this and advised you to go to the Hospital, and for this I sincerely apologise. I note you have access to Online Services which you can use to put yourself on triage from midnight (for the same day) to avoid waiting on the phone. This may help in future? I am happy to discuss further if you require. Kind regards Jane O'Shea Practice Manager
