I have had two visits to the surgery recently and both were very friendly and positive. A shingles jab and blood test results. All explanations were straightforward and followed up. A friendly and helpful atomosphere. Thankyou

Saw a doctor on 12th August (late p.m.) Dr tried to make an urgent referral for SDEC (same day emergency care) but was unable to confirm. I was advised to wait until lunchtime on 13th August and if I had not heard from the hospital, then I should phone the surgery and ask them to chase up the appointment. When I phoned, I was told that the Dr means tomorrow 14th August. The Dr actually sent a note to the surgery at 18.22 on the 12th, which means i should have been seen today. Now I have to suffer what are quite debilitating symptoms for another 24 hours. This is not the normal level of service that I get from this surgery but I am disappointed that the person with whom I spoke would not allow me to explain.

I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration with the service at Red and Green Practice, at BlackField. For the past several months, my wife, who has multiple health conditions and a disability, has been trying to book an appointment by calling at 8:00 as instructed. Despite following this procedure diligently, she is repeatedly told that there are no available appointments and to try again the next day. Unfortunately, this has become a daily occurrence, with the same response each time. It is unacceptable and deeply troubling that a vulnerable individual with significant health issues is unable to access the care she urgently needs. This raises serious concerns about how other patients, particularly those who are not as vulnerable, are treated. The lack of care and consideration shown towards my wife’s situation is distressing, and I urge you to address this issue immediately. Patients, especially those with serious health conditions, deserve better access to medical care.

Dear David. I'm sorry that you are having difficulty in getting an appointment. As a practice we provide over 58,000 appoints a year plus over 60,000 in our Urgent Care Clinics at Hythe hospital. I found Red & Green practice very helpful. My doctor was very prompt getting back to me after a ultrasound the same day. I always find the staff helpful and courteous. 5*****

Didn’t hv to wait long for a non urgent appointment with GP who referred me to an excellent team called Health & Wellbeing who saw me very quickly. Just what I needed, they had time to listen and gave excellent advice and understanding. Can nt express enough how wonderful they are.

I was referred for an Echocardiogram that was performed in May 2024. The report was ‘lost,’ initially both practice and hospital denying responsibility. In June it was found in Blackfield and I requested a print out. The report is indecipherable to me. Every request to book an appointment with the GP who referred me has been rebuffed. On your advice I have rung, visited the practice and tried Patient Access all to no avail. There are never any appointments left available to me. Why is the appointments system so constructed that I cannot get an appointment? I would like my condition considered, the report read and interpreted, and most importantly a prognosis, and any remedial action necessary. Thank you, Stephen Bradford.

I had visited the new Hythe Hospital but had to walk across to the pharmacy to collect some antibiotics the GP had just prescribed. Unfortunately, one of the workers in the pharmacy (not sure on name but she was around 40/50 years old with dark hair in a bun) had taken herself out onto the path between the hospital and GP practice to have a smoke break. I believe this site is a non smoking site, I also keep myself away from smokers as I am pregnant and expecting in July.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, All of Red and Green practice's buildings are non-smoking sites however the Day Lewis Pharmacy, although physically connected to our Waterside Health Centre site, is a separate organisation to us and I also note the person was smoking outside of their pharmacy.
