Review titled No continuity of care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 February 2023
Spoke to nurse and arranged to see the same nurse the following day. Put on askmygp a reminder of the time snd it was with another nurse. When I asked how come this was the case, I didn’t recieve a response and then the receptionist just closed the request with no response. What really infuriates me is the lack of continuity in this place. Along with the lack of compassion and very basic manners and communication to patients. You can bet you bottom dollar if shoe were on the other foot they’d expect answers. It makes me laugh I see the sign about non tolerance of verbal abuse towards staff, but the attitude and absolute rudeness of some I can start to understand why patients get so frustrated. I don’t condone it by any stretch. But it’s also a two way streak.

Thank you for your comments. If you could like to contact the practice direct (redbank.gp@nhs.net) with details of your specific complaint, then we will be able to investigate on your behalf. Please note that Nurse apts are not made through askmyGP so we are therefore, confused as to why this is being referenced.

Review titled The service is utterly useless
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Pamela Howard - Posted on 03 February 2023
Sent an AskmyGP request at 7.00am on Wednesday. Said I was unavailable at 4.00pm. Was on a day's holiday - spent all day waiting around for a phone call, didn't go out in case I was asked to go to the surgery. Doctor rang at 6.25pm and left a voice message. Rang my home number (I wasn't in) and said she would "try and ring on Friday as she doesn't work Thursday". Today is Friday, I've arranged to work from home, rang the surgery (at 9.15am) to make sure the doctor will phone and I'm not on her list and she's full today. The receptionist (extremely unhelpful) will try and ask her if she is going to ring me but no guarantees. Not committal when I asked what happens then with my AskmyGP, does it just lapse because I didn't answer at the convenience of the doctor, she just got stroppy. Went on the website to log another AskMyGP, just to be sure, and it's closed for the day. I am so frustrated - the service is utterly appalling. I rarely go to the doctors. It's no wonder people wait too long to go and then end up with serious illnesses that are harder to treat.

I’m nothing but impressed with Red Bank Practice. The ask my gp service is fantastic. I left a message and was contacted the same day by a practitioner. They listened and prescribed quickly and sent it to my local pharmacy. I’m not sure I could ask for a better service. Times are difficult in the nhs at the moment and yet I personally have always had good service from my doctors practice. More people ought to say thank you.

Askmygp is available from 7am each day, unfortunately, it has to be switched off earlier due to the number of clinicians working on the day and the number of requests we receive that can be dealt with safely. Practice demand has increased exponentially in the run up to Christmas and the overall holiday period generally. Calls to the practice have also increased so unfortunately, we have to ask patients to keep trying. We do ask that non urgent requests are received Tuesdays to Thursdays to avoid very busy Mondays and Fridays. We are currently making enquiries regarding a new telephone system which we hope, if approved, will help deal with the current demand/volume of calls to the practice.
