Review titled Three visits and three problems were sorted
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ms Pat Barker - Posted on 07 March 2025
Loss of sensation in my right leg was cured by the advice not to sit cross legged. Severe pain in veins in lower arms and legs much reduced by advice to apply plentiful dry skin cream twice daily. Tendency to faint when sitting up in bed stopped completely after following a specific exercise programme for 14 days. All 3 visits to Redlands had been friendly and enjoyable and well worth the walk down and back from the centre of town.

Review titled Very kind Doctor
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Patricia Crome - Posted on 02 April 2025
I came in last Thursday , suffering with stiff and painful joints ! Had been suffering at least since before Christmas. Gradually got worse , couldn’t walk properly. Getting out of bed in the morning was so painful. I felt so tired all the time . Began to think I would end up in a wheelchair ! It was like living in a fog ! As soon as Dr saw me walking , he realised I had an issue . He asked me lots of questions, and said he was sure I had Polymyalgia rheumatica . He took blood and sent it off. . He reassured me that he would put me on steroids and that I would quickly start to feel better . Bloods confirmed diagnosis , and I started on tablets straight away . What can I say , I call them miracle tablets !!! Within a few hours I started to feel better , pain and stiffness went . Could almost run up the stairs!! Everything felt clear , it was like coming out of a fog !! Family had been worried about me , now everyone happy !! I can’t speak highly enough of Dr . He has even rung me to see how I am getting on with tabs ! I am very happy !

Review titled Brilliant experience

I phoned and was able to use the call back service which worked well. When I spoke to a member of staff they went a photo request message. A Dr phoned within half an hour, and I was immediately able to pick up a prescription. Dr was very helpful and knowledgeable. From first phone call to getting prescription less than 2 hours.

I contacted the surgery about my son, who has long term mental health issues. The GP I spoke to was kind and understanding. He has since seen my son and referred him onwards as very much needed. Can't describe the relief this has given us as a family, thank you 🙏

I have been a patient at Redlands for one year and have found the service, friendly, professional and responsive to me as a patient. Today I had an excellent update with my named GP who wanted to understand more about my complex needs.

by David John Lloyd - Posted on 26 March 2025
I have been a patient at Redlands for the past 5 years and have always been treaded ewith care and respect .Having many ailments and a lot of medication several referrals we needed and each matched the need. I pray that I can find another surgery to match Redlands as from reception to ringing for an appointment and seeing a paramedic nurse or doctor the response is fantastic. Thank you Redlands for all you have done for me I will miss you all.

Review titled Fantastic work
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ali - Posted on 07 March 2025
I have been with the practice for a number of years and thankfully haven’t had to use them much until the last 6 months. In that time they have supported me incredibly. I have received consistent support and advice from the same doctor and this has had a really positive impact on my wellbeing. I recognise the challenges faced via public opinion and the impact of shortage of appointments but I am really pleased to say that has not been my experience with my practice and when I have needed anything it has been sorted promptly and with professionalism and respect by all the staff

Review titled Gone downhill since merger.
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 February 2025
On the whole, once one sees a doctor, things are fine, but communication and getting an appointment are both very difficult. There were two practices which merged to form this one and the service is not a patch on what was received before the merger. Word has it there are no full-time doctors; continuity is very difficult to achieve and guidance in dealing with over-70s is not followed. One doctor was doing a surgery when they were called out and away for more than 2 hours - no other doctors were available. Making appointments is lengthy with the phone queue excessively long and takes an eternity to be answered. When answered, you are unlikely to get a doctor's appointment but put on 'triage'. A text informs you of an appointment but you cannot reply to the text if the time is not convenient. The only way is to turn up and queue at reception which is often under-manned and can take 20 minutes or more. The organisation is poor, unreliable and very difficult to deal with. Staff pleasant and try but are fighting a losing battle. If I wanted the surgery for something more serious, I have no faith it will be there to help. The situation is dire. If other practices were available, I would be looking elsewhere. This practice should be in special measures and monitored closely.

Dear Anonymous, I am sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the service provided by the practice. Unfortunately, anonymous reviews are not terribly helpful as it is difficult to provide a comprehensive response to your complaint without further details, in particular your concerns about full-time Doctors, continuity of care and guidance for over 70’s. The Practice is aware that we experience a high volume of phone calls, Mondays in particular can be very busy time for example the practice received 688 inbound calls on 20/1/25. When contacting the practice by phone we recommend that patients use the call back system, this option is available after waiting for two minutes. The call back system is automated and retains your place in the queue, if you ring back after we've tried to call you back you will go straight to the front of the queue. However, if you miss a call back call from us and our return call goes to voice mail your place in the queue will be lost as the system believes you have answered the call. Alternatively, patients may also contact the practice via our online service. As you will be aware the NHS experiences high demand therefore in order to ensure that patients with urgent need are seen within a suitable time frame Redlands Primary Care have a triage system, patients who have an urgent same day request are triaged by the Duty Doctor and signposted to the most appropriate care within an appropriate time frame, which may be the same day for urgent cases with a specialist paramedic, GP, nurse or First Contact Physio alternatively within a set time frame with a suitable clinician. The practice aims to have two members of staff at reception, however occasionally due to staff sickness this may be reduced to one. On these occasions we thank you for waiting. Thank you for your kind words about the staff who work extremely hard. Please could you contact the practice, either by telephone, letter or email Sue Turner sue.turner11@nhs.net, Operations Manager. This will enable us to investigate and respond to your complaint in greater detail. With kind regards Sue Turner Operations Manager

Review titled Appointment system working well.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 November 2024
Against a background of an apparently widespread perception that medical appointments and access to medical care are very difficult to obtain currently, my own experience is very much the opposite of that. Twice recently when I have sought to make an appointment at Redlands, I have been seen within hours and received exemplary attention.
