Review titled Worst Experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Shabeer Iqbal - Posted on 14 September 2024
I came in for my diabetic check which was originally booked for the 10th but a nurse rang up to re-book it for the Sat 14th, I attended a good 10 mins early, as there was no reception staff there the security personnel came up and asked who I needed to see, I said I was here to see the nurse for my diabetic check. Rather than seating me on the ground floor waiting area he took me to the staff restricted area floor 2 where a district nurse sent us packing saying we were breaking the health & safety rules. He then took us to floor no 1 where he said the nurse would see us.. During this time another diabetic patient was brought up to floor no1 and sat there, I waited for 45 mins there going well passed my appointment time, the other diabetic patient had also gone half an hour passed his appointment. I went down to enquire again with the security personnel and was told there was no nurse on the ground floor, I asked him to check as he may be wrong about where he sent us. After he checked it turns out he was wrong and the nurse told him that both diabetic patients need to re-book on Monday as we missed our appointments. The security personnel said that he was only security and that we should know where to go..??? I usually get seen by diabetic nurses on the ground floor yet he sent us up stairs and rather then apologise he got angry and loud, the level of service was absolutely appalling, I booked off time off work to attend this appointment and got this level of service, the nurse was not going to see us even after requesting on a second time. It was bad enough I missed my appointment but the other diabetic patient could not even walk properly and was using a mobility scooter to get there. As we were leaving I asked for the security personnel’s name, he refused to give it and walked off, I said I would caring this matter up, he swore as he walked away, we exchanged some choice language as it really infuriated me as to how this practise can employ such disgusting and foul mouthed people. It is totally unacceptable that patients should experience this level of service.

Myself and my wife needed a joint appointment as we had both gone down with chest & throat infections .We rang at 8am and a short wait of about 20minutes to get through ( which is normal ).We were offered an appointment at 8.40am with an associate doctor , which we accepted as we live fairly close . The consultation with the associate doctor was very thorough and very attentive . Would have no issue seeing an associate doctor if needed in the future .I have been a patient of this practice in its various guises for 60 years and with the pressure on the NHS today they always try hard to accommodate their patients needs .

Have had tests today at the hospital and within an hour had a reply from my dr that all clear! What a caring and dedicated practise it is. My friends are all envious of the care I continue to receive. Thankyou for everything that you do.
