Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2023
My G.P. phoned as requested and after explaining my symptoms, a blood test, an X-ray and a sample kit were arranged for the same day. I believe this is exceptional service and the patients of Richmond Surgery are very lucky to have such caring and efficient doctors and receptionists. I have been a patient for over forty years, even when there was a wooden building off Basingbourne Road. I am so grateful to my G.P. who has always been so efficient with any problems I have had, in one case his prompt action in arranging tests possibly saved my life. I cannot speak highly enough of Richmond Surgery, Fleet.

On Jan 9th I called the surgery around 4pm to ask for result of some tests i had just before Christmas. The receptionist couldn't find any results but was so helpful trying to find out where they were. There was no record of my GP requesting these tests. She said she would send a note to my GP regarding this issue. At about 6/6.10pm she called me to explain the reason behind no available results. Although I thanked her for calling me I would like to say how helpful she was throughout & to pass on huge thanks & appreciation to her.

Review titled Amazing service

I just wanted to email to say how grateful I am for the help I received just before Christmas. I was in desperate need of a prescription, it was late in the day, nearly to close of play for Christmas and im sure there was no way my ask was covered by 'normal service'. Thank you so very much for your help, I know how busy you all are - but what you did for me to get that prescription at short notice made all the difference. The pain and discomfort I didnt have to endure over Xmas made such a big personal difference to me. I know you all get a hard time at some point in your work for the public - but please know everything you do is really appreciated. Thanks again

Review titled Positive treatment and overall experience.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Brian Little - Posted on 19 December 2022
I attended the Surgery on 13 December for diagnosis of chronic elbow pain. The member of the Surgery Team immediately took time to explain the injury in detail, the options for treatment and recommendations; as well as answering all my questions. I came away reassured and very clear on the way forward. The visit further reinforced my extremely positive opinion of the Richmond Surgery.

Everyone in the surgery is always so kind and helpful - even when I've been a total idiot and missed a call back or rang about something which turns out to be nothing. The doctors seem to work such long hours to provide everyone with care - my son’s prescription was available after nine at night. We are so lucky as a community to have you as a surgery with so many wonderful and kind staff working in it. Thank you for everything!

Review titled Failed contact
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Jon Porter - Posted on 10 February 2023
I wish to highlight a significant issue with your 'GP will call you' service . I have a work phone which is used throughout the day, so on three different occassions whilst I was waiting for a call from my GP the call came whilst I was already on the phone. He left a message but when I called straight back I had to go through the whole automated call handling process, and even after enduring that I was still not able to speak to him, but was offered the opportunity to make another 'call back' appointment. I fully appreciate GPs are busy people, we all are, but feel the current process does clearly not account for any situations like this. All I am trying to do is get some medication for an enlarged prostate but I now feel it is less painful to just put up with my problem rather than keep trying to speak to my GP.

Dear Mr Porter, I am sorry you have experienced difficulties taking a phone call from the surgery on the mobile number you have given us to contact you. NHS Choices is for feedback, positive or otherwise. It is not the appropriate forum to advise you are having difficulties obtaining medication. Our GPs can each have in excess of 40 telephone consultations per day in addition to other clinical duties, therefore being put through to the GP when you call back is not possible. Please consider using the Patient Triage Service if receiving a phone call is difficult. You can ask via this service to receive a text back. The link to Patient Triage is available on our website. I have sent the link via an SMS message to the mobile phone number we have on your record. If the medication is one that your GP has already prescribed for you there are three ways you can request it again. • Ask your nominated pharmacy to request it on your behalf. • Email your request to our dedicated prescription email address. I have sent this address to your mobile phone number too. • Write it on a piece of paper and putting in the repeat prescription box at the surgery. All prescriptions must be requested in writing. If your issue has not already been resolved, please call and speak to our reception team and explain the difficulties you have receiving a telephone call. You can request a text message response if you are unable to offer an alternative telephone number to receive a phone call. Best regards, Lavinia Pollard Patient Liaison Manager
